✨️ Cool, calm, and climate-controlled, because comfort is always in season at Timber & Tula ✨️
When I got married years ago, in an old barn in Illinois on a hot and humid summer day, there was no HVAC system at the venue. My grandmother was in her 80's struggling with dementia and in a wheelchair and my disabled niece was just 2 years old and had trouble regulating her body temperature. There was nowhere for them to go and cool down, and that devastated me. When we started restoring our historic barn I knew we wouldn't have an HVAC system either, so having lots of air flow, shade, ventilation, and painting the metal roof white with a reflective coating to lower the temperature were all extremely important and thought out solutions. However, I knew that wouldn't be enough. So I've created the family room in honor of my grandmother, June. A beautiful space that is climate controlled, with comfortable sitting, warm lighting, a coffee bar, a kids area, a mini fridge stocked with cold water, a soft rug and stunning view! If you're feeling overheated, overstimulated, or over tired, you have a cool place to take a break. A place where grandma can drink a cup of coffee while she sits with her sleeping grandchild, chats with family or just take a moment to rest.
