My favorite trend I’m seeing more and more in 2025 weddings are the disposable cameras being handed out at receptions.

These cameras always make me smile and hold a sentimental place in my heart because they’re part of my story as well. My aunt and uncle use to work for Kodak and when I was 4 they started giving me the little gold Kodak disposible cameras to walk around and take pictures with. My favorite thing was cranking the little wheel for the next exposure. The Kodak Gold film is actually a large inspiration behind a lot in the tones in my editing today. It has gold hues with the right amount of contrast but still pairs well with bright whites and rich blacks. It carries just the right amount of nostalgia for your moments turning into memories.

I don’t know about anyone else but we blinked and the first week of January was over! We’re well on our way to getting our spring couples prepped for their wedding days! So excited for all the beautiful couples we get to work with in 2025, this year is going to be amazing!

Proposals hold such a special place in my heart! It’s one of the biggest questions someone can ask and a romantic gestures that is sure to become a favorite memory and story. Moments like these are the start of a new chapter, a bright future, the beginning of a new family and life together.

Casey wanted to propose to Hannah on the near where he grew up. Everything came together beautifully with so much love and attention to detail and effort from their families. We were blessed with the perfect weather and the most beautiful gold light we could have asked for.

I will forever be grateful I get to capture these moments and memories. Congratulations Casey + Hannah 🤍🤍🤍

Today was Adriana and Darren’s wedding day at the beautiful

I wanted to come on and thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers and patience over the last two weeks as we’ve been managing the ever busy fall wedding season and these hurricanes. We’ve had so many friends and colleagues reaching out to us to check in. ✨

First, I wanted to share that Carlos and I and our families are safe. In addition to loss of power and internet the property we rent took an extremely heavy beating and the cleanup is just beginning and will be a process. I must ask for continued patience as we work with our couples that may need to reschedule events for this weekend and going into this week. I’m in the process of working through my email inbox, if you haven’t heard from me yet I’ll be reaching out soon. LSI will be closed through the weekend and hoping to be back to normal opperations and schedule by Monday.

Next, your imagery is safe. A lot of our backup procedures were developed with hurricanes and storms like Milton in mind. We aim to keep our gear and editing setup portable so we can work anywhere we need to. When Carlos and I were getting prepped and packing we started with our hard drives, gear and work clothes first before our items. We both did so without really thinking twice about it as it’s so important to us to still be ready, show up and be there for our couples to the best of our ability even when crap is hitting the fan.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is navigating the aftermath of Milton and putting the pieces back together. If anyone needs anything please reach out ❤️

The secret to beautiful details is actually giving your photographer TIME to style your details in different ways and take a variety of images. These photos don’t happen in 5 minutes it can actually take 45-60 minutes to complete a full set of details for our couples. When you account for hanging the dress/suit, photo and video of the save the date/invitation suite, jewelry, rings, perfume, shoes, florals, vow books and other special details for both people and that’s if everything is set aside and ready to us to grab. To be completely honest, I’m lucky to get 30 minutes from my couples without pushback. I get it, a lot of people rather have their photographer capturing moments rather than things However, if magazine worthy details are important to you and you are someone who has a lot of details, trust your photographer when they tell you it will take time 🤍

My favorite thing about capturing weddings is learning how cultures from around the world celebrate love, commitment and the beginning of a new family. Humeyra is from Turkey and Patrick is from Lebanon and when they were telling me about the traditions that were important to them on their wedding day the first on their list was making sure that both of their families had time to celebrate and dance together with a traditional Zaffa band before they all left to their venue.

Traditionally the groom and his family come to the brides parent’s house to collect his bride and celebrate together with the Zaffa band, food/drinks, dancing and a gift exchange. Sometimes that requires bribing a sister of the bride to let the groom and his party enter ;) If the groom can gain access the groom and his family is welcomed by the brides family before the bride and groom have a private moment and first look together. After their first look the bride and groom re-enter into the room and continue celebrating with both their families and the Zaffa band. When they leave the brides parents home, they leave as one new family rather than two. Humeyra and Patrick’s wedding day was gorgeous top to bottom and this part of their wedding day was definitely one of my favorite moments. Both of their families were so much fun and so sweet, it was a wonderful day and we couldn’t have been more honored to be trusted with capturing their beautiful wedding day and precious traditions.

There’s something beautiful about the simplicity of an intimate ceremony surrounded by your loved ones, during the week in the middle of a busy city. I was so obsessed with Colleens gorgeous custom blue dress and white bouquet, I love how she completely switched a timeless color combo making it her own!
