✨ This past weekend was one for the books! ✨
I had the honor of attending an amazing event celebrating the 10 most powerful women of Douglas County, and I’m still buzzing with inspiration! From the heartfelt speeches, captivating dancers, and stunning fashion show to the passionate vendors—I was in awe of the incredible energy in the room. It was a day of pure empowerment.
And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better…I won a $300+ gift basket in the raffle! 🎉
But beyond the celebration and fun, one powerful takeaway stuck with me: the importance of lifting each other up. Watching these women share their stories, their struggles, and their triumphs, I realized how much we can all learn from each other if we take the time to connect.
I even got the chance to meet two women I’ve admired for a while—Karen and Wanda. Both were humble, hilarious, and so incredibly down-to-earth. Meeting them reminded me how powerful community and mentorship can be, and I would love to learn more from these amazing women.
To the honorees and everyone involved—thank you for such an unforgettable experience. 💫 Here’s to more empowerment, more connection, and more moments that inspire us all.

🌹👧🏽 The History of Flower Girls: From Ancient Rituals to Modern Weddings🌹👧🏽
The tradition of the flower girl is one of the oldest wedding customs, with roots tracing back to ancient Rome. In those days, young girls would walk ahead of the bride, scattering herbs and grains to bless the couple with prosperity and fertility.
During the Victorian era, the role of the flower girl evolved into something closer to what we see today. Dressed in white to symbolize purity, she would carry a basket of rose petals, representing the blossoming of love. The Victorian flower girl often wore a sash, mirroring the bride’s attire, symbolizing the bride’s journey from childhood to womanhood.
Today, the flower girl adds a touch of innocence and charm to the wedding ceremony. As she walks down the aisle, she’s not just scattering petals but continuing a tradition that spans centuries, celebrating love, purity, and the hope for a beautiful future.

🤵🏽👰🏽♀️ Why the Garter Toss Is Fading Out of Modern Weddings
Once a lively part of wedding receptions, the garter toss is gradually disappearing from modern weddings. But why are so many couples opting out of this tradition?
1. Changing Tastes: As weddings become more personalized, couples are choosing traditions that feel meaningful to them. The garter toss, often seen as outdated or uncomfortable, doesn’t always fit with the modern vibe they’re going for.
2. Focus on Equality: Many couples want their weddings to reflect equality and respect. The garter toss, with its origins in medieval times when it was a symbol of “proof” of the marriage, can feel out of step with today’s values.
3. More Inclusive Celebrations: Today’s weddings often include a mix of friends and family of all ages, and some couples find the garter toss too intimate or awkward in front of such a diverse crowd.
Instead, couples are choosing to make their big day uniquely their own, incorporating traditions that resonate with them while leaving behind those that don’t. The shift away from the garter toss is just one example of how weddings are evolving to reflect the values and tastes of today’s brides and grooms.

💍👦🏾✨ The Tradition of the Wedding Ring Bearer: A Journey Through Time ✨💍👦🏾
The tradition of the wedding ring bearer dates back centuries, with roots in ancient Egypt and Rome. In ancient Egyptian weddings, rings symbolized eternity, and it was believed that carrying them in a ceremonial way ensured good fortune and lasting love.
Fast forward to Roman times, young boys, often dressed in fine robes, would carry the rings on a pillow as a sign of wealth and status. This tradition evolved through the Middle Ages, where the bearer would carry the bride’s “dowry,” symbolizing the union of two families.
Today, the role of the ring bearer is more about charm and tradition, adding a delightful touch to the ceremony. That adorable little one walking down the aisle with the rings still holds a place of honor, connecting modern weddings to their rich history. From ancient symbols of eternity to today’s heartwarming wedding moments, the ring bearer’s journey is one of love and tradition that has stood the test of time! 💍
