Our DIY bulk bucket florals are full of fresh, local flowers that are grown using sustainable practices. Whether you’re looking for an alternative for affordable wedding florals, you’re wanting to make your own arrangements for a party or you want to do your own bouquet bar at a get together or shower, DIY buckets would be a great option! Buckets are seasonal and the types of flowers change as the year goes along, but no matter what you get gorgeous local flowers. We offer farmer’s choice which is the lower price tier where we choose the color scheme for you. The next tier is the choice between seven preset color palettes. Both have the same amount of flowers which is roughly 70 stems (but can vary from about 60-85 stems total depending on the value per stem) and have focals, filler and foliage. Hi! 👋 Figured for the new year I’d do an introduction and put myself on here since I don’t do it often. 🙈 I’m Lana, chief of all the things at this small business in Paeonian Springs, Loudoun County, VA. I want to share the most amazing, high quality and unique locally grown flowers to make your lives more special. We provide a range of services: market bouquets, arrangements with delivery, seasonal subscriptions, dried flower decor, holiday evergreens, DIY bulk buckets, à la carte event florals, full service event and wedding design. We use organic, low/no till growing practices that are pollinator friendly, not even using organic pesticides. Working in cooperation with the ecosystem is easier if you mimic nature and provide habitat for beneficial organisms that do the work for you. This is what inspired the name, watching the numerous wrens here eat caterpillars off the flowers to feed their offspring. Why local? Local flowers are fresher, haven’t travelled thousands of miles, generally have fewer pesticides and don’t contribute to the poor conditions in countries where labor laws do not protect people. You can also get more unique and specialty flowers you won’t see available for wholesale! This was a video from last year showing the start of the cut flower tulip bed to level the area, I’m using a mattock which I think is a very underrated garden tool. As long as you can lift it letting all 5 pounds of it fall does a lot of the work if you get the balance right. I don’t often talk about my chronic illness but it unequivocally informs every bit of who I am and why I’m here, I do not bring this up for pity. It is who I am as a whole person and most choices I make are taking this into consideration. I was incredibly sick after having my son years ago and I was barely functional. I really get into making wreaths, each being their own unique piece of fragrant, ephemeral art celebrating the winter holidays. I use the highest quality evergreens that are fresh and local, not cut back in October and have been sitting just drying out. I have my standard wreaths on the website for pickup or delivery but I really like creating one-offs with interesting textures, grasses and dried flowers too. I’ll have a selection of unique wreaths at the Hillsboro Holiday Market and Historic Homes Tour December 9th with Hillsboro Preservation Foundation and Town of Hillsboro, Virginia ! We will also have potted amaryllis and paperwhites, ornaments and more available at the Old Stone School from 10 am to 5pm that day. I really enjoyed putting this bridal bouquet together, with dahlias, the @dawncreekfarm blush zinnias and so many other special little touches. So I’ve kind of kept it hush hush, but I am starting to do more weddings and events. I have kept it to people I know or friends of friends to keep it manageable since I may need to bring in an extra set of hands for larger events.
