We’re excited to invite you to help us create ceramic bowls for our upcoming fundraiser! This is a great opportunity to learn new pottery skills, make beautiful bowls, and contribute to a meaningful cause.

At our Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Friday, April 5th, these handmade works of art will be sold, and buyers will receive a delicious serving of soup in their new bowl, which they’ll get to take home.

Class Details:
• Where: The new Jungle Pottery Studio at SPACE
Address: 12-253 W Pohakupele Loop, Pāhoa, HI 96778
• First Class: January 31st
• Second Class: February 7th
• Third Class: February 14th
• Glazing Class: March 7th
• Time: All classes run from 1 PM to 4 PM

How It Works:
• In the first three classes, we’ll focus on making bowls together.
• After a short break to fire all the creations, we’ll meet again for a glazing session to add the finishing touches.

This is a fun, creative way to support Jungle Pottery and our community at SPACE. Mark your calendars for April 5th and join us in making this event a success!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Let’s create something beautiful together!

Exciting Updates from the Pottery Studio at SPACE!
We’re thrilled to share some incredible news about the pottery studio at SPACE! Thanks to the Kilauea Recovery Grant, we now have a beautiful new building dedicated to our studio. Over the past year, we’ve been steadily working to create a space for weekly classes and monthly memberships to serve our community. While the studio isn’t open just yet, we’re making significant progress!
We’re excited to announce that Kimberly Free who has been volunteering and leading pottery projects at SPACE for the past two years and has 16 years of experience working with clay is helping to develop the pottery program. We’d also like to recognize Melina Castro and Morgan Langham-Alpine whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. We are so grateful for their contributions to creating this space!

Save the Date: Fundraiser on April 5th

We’re excited to announce a fundraiser on Saturday, April 5th, to acquire the remaining supplies and equipment needed to fully outfit the studio.

The fundraiser will feature:
• Empty Bowl Event: Buy a handmade soup bowl and enjoy it filled with delicious soup!
• Tile Glazing: Participate in this hands-on activity.
• Raku Demonstrations: Watch an exciting and unique pottery firing technique.
• Silent Auction: Bid on amazing items donated by our community members.

How You Can Help:
We need your support to make this event a success! Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Make Soup Bowls: Join us to create bowls for the Empty Bowl event. (Class starts Jan 31st)
2. Donate Artwork or Services: Contribute items to the silent auction.
3. Volunteer on Event Day: Help make and/or serve soup during the fundraiser.
4. Pottery Donations: Are you a potter or know one? We’d love handmade soup bowls for the event.

If you’d like to volunteer, donate, or have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm—it’s truly a community effort, and we can’t wait to share this creative space with all of you!
