For over 80 years, Fairport Mardi Gras has been a cornerstone of Fairport Harbor’s 4th of July celebrations. Our goal is to provide a free, family-friendly festival to our local communities, while using the proceeds to provide scholarships, donations to local food banks, school groups, and other charitable endeavors throughout the year.
In order to continue our mission, Fairport Mardi Gras will be implementing several policies for the 2024 festival. We appreciate your cooperation as this is a private event sponsored by the Mardi Gras Committee. Failure to follow the rules below could subject you to immediate removal or to be denied entry to the festival. All criminal activity is subject to arrest and prosecution.
1. Entrance and exit to the festival must be done at one of the marked access points (see attached map). All daytime traffic should use the main entrance at the lighthouse. The north side beach entrance will be available in the later afternoons or after 7pm.
2. Minors must have a parent or guardian after 7pm.
3. No fighting or disorderly behavior.
4. No hoods or face masks permitted unless medically necessary.
5. Book bags or oversized bags are subject to inspection upon entry.
6. Alcohol must be purchased from, and remain in, the designated Entertainment Garden.
7. Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of law enforcement or event officials.
8. By requesting entry into this event, all festival-goers and attendees shall be subject to search.
Organizers shall reserve the right to either deny any person entry into, or eject any person from, the event who, in the sole and absolute discretion of event organizers, are in violation of event rules. Rules may be updated from time-to-time with or without notice.
