A private moment for just Sammi and Matt to explore this epic scene before their guests would enter and find their seats for dinner.

Turning page softly played from grande piano, it moved all of us to tears.

Hand in hand, the two of them shared more moments together. Walking, glancing and being. Husband and wife. Mr. & Mrs. Matthew and Eleanor [Sammi] Johnson.

Meanwhile, the team and all hands were waiting with anticipation. Ready to complete the transformation for dinner. And remove the aisles of florals to create the pathways that would allow for guests to flow freely throughout the meadow and enjoy a flawlessly executed and extended dining experience.

Floral splendor.

Designing this space and working through the logistics of this vision was something special. And took the entire team working in tandem down to the minute in order to execute.

The grand views of Villa Balbiano’s lake front coupled with the lush meadow we installed for the ceremony, were the determining factors for curating a dining experience among the flowers. In every way.

Playing with existing lines and landscape, the wooden tables we set down the center of the aisle meadow. To soften the wood and elevate the floral palette, we custom made a shadow box effect for the tabletops, in which we inlaid soft white textured petals that flowed softly out and over the sides of the tables.

The center tabletop design featured a divine floral recipe that was as if another meadow was growing on top of the table. Set amongst an abundance of textured candlelight in glass to reflect the flickering flames and starlight that would soon would be overhead.

In choosing the place settings, we wanted to create layers of white that emulated classic Italian architecture and a regal sophistication that was soft yet dynamic. Mother of pearl and gold inlaid flatware added more warmth and elegance. On each setting was a custom linen bound menu folio — inside, a hand written note to each guest on handmade paper and an acrylic menu with embossed text. A hand calligraphed place card announced each guest’s chosen seat. And to finish, we custom embroidered white hemstitch napkins with the family crest we created.

Every element of this was perfectly and intentionally crafted after Sammi’s love affair of florals and the joy they brought to this day.

Every hand was on board transitioning this from ceremony to dinner. And for the detail photos and the private reveal for M&S, we decided that the table and chairs fit perfectly fully engulfed by the meadow. Which we would later create pathways for dinner and service. More on that to come. ♡

A slow, extended time spent mingling and enjoying la dolce vita.

Cacio e Pepé was prepared in front of guests, wine was flowing, the scent of the rose meadows surrounded the lounges and soft string chords filled the air.

An ethereal and regal aisle filled with 20,000 white rose stems. Lovingly hand planted, stem by stem by the ever talented and unmatched and the best team.

Ruth and Sammi and I went through multiple variations of floral recipes, color theory and design of this space. We wanted it to evoke an otherworldly experience, but remain tied to nature in its essence. Like it had always been there, planted and awaiting a love story — Sammi and Matt’s love story.

The ideation of the meadow consisted of so many layers and logistics. Because later, it would also become the backdrop for the dinner. Transitioning and transforming the space into two breathtaking scenes — from day to night — was the epitome of a challenge, and one the team eagerly curated and flawlessly executed.

This arch was a surprise for our Sammi. And something that highlighted and softened the magnificent entryway to the lake terrace.

A brilliant undertaking. And a surprise that Sammi saw as she was descending the stairs to meet her father right before walking down the aisle to say I Do.

A little tryst on the lake was a perfect setting for more time and to take in the essence of all that Lake Como is. The juxtaposition of the depths of the waters set against the enormity of the mountainscapes behind. A sight to behold. Together.

The anticipation of seeing your person for the first time on your wedding day is like nothing else.

Excitement ran high. Nerves higher. But it was in this, that Matt & Sammi decided to spend a couple of hours together just the two of them before all of their friends and family would join them.

Despite steering clear of the iconic meadow that and team were installing for the ceremony, they walked the grounds talking, laughing and enjoying one another with .wedding.films and trailing behind to capture their sweet moments.

I think this was a pivotal moment in the day. That slowed everything down, and gave them more time. And it was only the beginning.

If you know the lake, you understand the unpredictable nature of the weather.

Just two days prior, there was a hailstorm that broke through the newly installed glasshouse at Villa Balbiano. You may have seen that wedding go viral, as guests were ushered inside of the villa, and maintained their good spirits despite the circumstances. Meanwhile, the team at the Villa did an incredible job of immediately restoring the property in the day that followed back to its pristine and impeccable status.

Fast forward to the morning of the first of June. The skies were clear. The lake was glistening. And we were ushered into the gates of this iconic villa, where the magic we had been planning and dreaming about for the last year was about to unfold. An impeccably coursed Italian menu curated with the talented team at . I cannot thank Giuliano and Davide enough for their attention to detail and creating an experience that was unforgettable. From the accommodations to their family managing every meal, it was everything we could have ever wanted for Sammi and Matt, and their families’ time in Lago di Como.

Excuse me while I set the stage for the one year anniversary of Sammi and Matt’s wedding week. I think I’m still in utter shock that it has been one year since we were standing in this magnificent place, beginning the celebrations that we had meticulously planned together. The story that I fell deeply in love with. In Lago di Como with all of its beauty, depth and romance. For the most special people. The most special family. And alongside the most extraordinary creative team I have ever had the honor of working with, and who I now call some of my closest and most cherished friends.

A thank you. From the depths of my soul. To every single person that collaborated with us on this journey. I love you most ardently.

There are some designs that live rent free in my mind. And this day was one of them. Forever the distinct tropicals that our south Florida event culture has adopted, with special and exceptional layering. Linens custom made by local Bahamian artisans, collected sea shells with hand calligraphy at each place setting, all of the coconuts and the only way you’ll see me using monsteras ever [en mass].

Katie & Brent’s story to this day is exceptional and full of roller coasters. But ultimately the greatest win. Because they celebrated in the most intentional way. With their core humans. In the home they built together.

Every single piece of this day and their journey to it was remarkable.

The most incredible stories woven into the fabric of the most beautiful places on earth. I will forever be enamored with my couples, and the way they show up for one another within their journey to promise forever. Each so unique, with their destinations becoming a testament to that. The opportunity to create worldwide alongside of the humans that have chosen me, takes my breath away.

I’m often asked how we find these locations. And it really is that the place chooses the people. Because when it feels like coming home and a grande adventure all wrapped up into one destination, that is when the story begins. And there are never two stories alike.

Starting this Monday in humbled gratitude. Of the places we have been. And all of the places to come. The stories to write. And the living, breathing pages of each novel that are unfolding, even as I sit here writing these words.

What are your soul things? What makes you feel? What makes you feel alive? How is your breath stolen? How? And when? Does this life give you arrhythmia? What pulls at you so much that it hurts not to chase it?

The dreams out there. The hopes within. The art. The words. The music. What shifts you?

That somewhere beautiful in this world that inexplicably calls to you in the early light. And those aching things that keep you up so restless after midnight.

What takes you higher than this world? And to the deepest recesses of your soul.

It says everything without saying anything. And if I had to define my brand, this would be the essence of it. Such is the way @allforlovelondon and I designed L&L’s intimate wedding day. It was effortless. Sophisticated. Beautiful. The crisp air softly whispered around us, and the light was glowing. Their story unfolded in the most magnificent way.

The moment. And the photos. The beauty that radiated out of and around Lucia in her @maxmara gown on this day was more than magnificent. The light was impeccable. The backdrop was impeccable. The team was impeccable. Lucia was impeccable. Impeccable in every way. ♡

I may be biased but I don’t believe there is any light like that in the hills of Tuscany. And I’m so thrilled to finally be sharing this most perfect day with you. Amidst the most special backdrop in the private sanctuary of @fattoriedicelli , we designed an intimate ceremony for L&L that emulated the wild and richly lush landscape of the countryside. Utilizing native botanicals, textured variations of urns and vessels made from clay and stone, the beautiful framework of the ornate wooden door and a hint of soft velvet, I believe we truly captured the essence of quiet Italian luxury. And really enhanced the beauty that radiated out of the hearts of our L&L. You can clearly see they are glowing. It was spectacular in every way. ♡

To quote @nicolepeterson , “The feet are swollen and the heart is full. Yesterday was the best day of my life by far.”When people find out what I do, they always want to hear “the stories”. And from the bottom of my soul, my “stories” are those filled with gratitude and with absolute pleasure. My clients are a joy. My couples are love. Their families are the warmest hugs. Their friends are the unabashed laughter. And everything about the journey to get to the day is an honor. No story is without flaw. Because emotions are human. And humans are imperfect. But they’re imperfect in a way that makes the path to marriage full of heart and soul. Of the reasons that matter. Making it intentional and full of purposeful decisions that come together with love. Something that is wholly unique to each story. I am constantly in awe of my couples and their humans. And with each day, I am consistently reminded why I love what I do. Because I fall in love with each of my clients and their families and friends. Their why. Their reason. The way that they choose each other. And the way that they desire to experience this day. The day. Or weekend. And it is fully apparent when I sit after the magic has settled and I am able to comprehend the enormity of all that transpired over the course of our time together. I know I feel all of these emotions without abandon. But I rarely get to see how they show up on my face [since I’m best behind the scenes]. So I’m thankful for @isimarketingco capturing the joy I feel on the inside and sharing with me how it shows up on the outside. But more than anything, today I sit and am grateful for @nicolepeterson and @granderojo . And to @petersonkaren , @dpetersonlife and @mackenziepetersonn and the rest of their family and friends.
