I was initially asked by one of my dearest friends to obtain a license to perform her wedding ceremony. And I received many compliments from the guests on the clarity of my voice, my personal comments and the joy that went into it. Since that moment, I knew that performing wedding ceremonies was my new calling and have put an equal amount of love, energy and enthusiasm into every wedding I have pe

One of the great joys of my life has been the privilege of occasionally performing wedding ceremonies for people we truly love. On January 15, I was honored to officiate at the marriage of Steve and Michael, our friends, neighbors and world travel partners. It was a quiet backyard ceremony with just a couple of close friends present. Steve and Michael have been together for 37 years, and now, as they say, “it’s official!”

I just got back from three weeks in China. In the bigger cities, the groom has to rent at least six BMW, Audi or Mercedes luxury sedans on his wedding day for his bride's family to ride in to the ceremony. (Lexus won't cut it!) If you're invited as a guest to a wedding, you have to bring at least $200 as a gift in cash for the bridal couple . If you have a lot of friends getting married, it can get expensive!!
