 I wanted to announce the theme and city for next year‘s Tidal Wave Party event. The only way to improve on this event is to use your feedback. The survey will be sent out Sunday, so please take the time to answer it.
I would ask that you please hold off on making any assumptions or comments until you fill out the survey and we will post the results and announce the schedule in early July.

We want to thank each of you for your valued feedback. We wanted to provide clarity and a timeline on the recent concern over outside beverages being brought into the pools.

Upon contracting with Margaritaville in 2023, we worked with the Sales Manager who agreed to our group bringing in outside beverages in a Tidal Wave branded container into the pool area. This manager has since left Margaritaville in April 2024.

At a Margaritaville leadership meeting last Wednesday 6/5/24, our beverage containers were discussed, and it was found that the inclusion of outside beverages could not be allowed due to liquor licensing by the state of California. When we found out, we immediately met with the General Manager to discuss options and workarounds.

On 6/7/24, after working on this for two days and confirming with their attorneys and ours, it was determined that there was not a possibility of bringing in outside alcohol into areas where alcohol is being sold. Doing so would violate the terms of the property’s liquor licensing with the state of California, and we would not be allowed to continue with the event.

As a concession, the hotel is still allowing the use of Tidal Wave branded containers in the pool area. The branded containers may be brought into the pool area but must be empty. They also are allowing two (2) 24 oz SEALED soda, water, juice or energy drinks. NO GLASS or UNOPENED containers (plastic or aluminum) will be allowed. You may still consume your own beverages in your room/balcony/patio and in common areas (outside of the pool area and in areas where food and alcohol are not being sold or served).

On Sunday 6/10/24, we issued the statement to our guests. We understand that this is a change from our previous 15 years of being allowed to bring in our own beverages and is upsetting for some, but we must follow the guidelines provided and we know that this will be a fantastic weekend for everyone!

I want to address the concerns, comments regarding the issue of bringing in beverages to the pool.
I polled 6 bear event coordinators/owners/planners, and each confirmed that they have never allowed outside alcohol or non-sealed containers to their event. I also polled 4 more that have but are changing policy due to liability.
In 15 years, we have been able to offer that to our guests and unfortunately, we can no longer extend this to you.
We put this event on for the camaraderie, positiveness, fellowship and we do realize that alcohol is involved BUT it is not the main reason.

In regard to the posts regarding Splash House, all the daybeds and cabanas during this event can be reserved with bottle service (with a guaranteed minimum). We opted not to put that into the daybed, cabana rentals as we were offering the proceeds for our two charities.
Our guests may consume alcohol in the common areas, guest rooms, and guest room patios & balconies. They just cannot bring in beverages to the pools, or meeting rooms where hotel food and beverages are being sold.
We realize that its hot in PS so we are giving everyone a TW branded cup that will keep your purchased beverages cold. This cup must be empty upon entry into the pool areas.
Additionally, you may bring in two (2) SEALED 24 oz or less
NON-ALCOHOLIC beverages (Water, Juice, Soda, Energy Drink) to the pool. IT MUST BE SEALED and not just opened or closed. There will also be water stations throughout the facilities.
No coolers are allowed into the pool areas.

Dave Holley, Emerson Andrew Jones and a special cameo from Matthew Moody. Each of these talented men contributed their expertise and talents to making this party happen!
