Hi there, folks! My name is Charlie, and I absolutely love going to work with my dad at his plant shop, Plant This. I may be just a little puppy, but I’ve got a big job: making sure everyone who walks through the door leaves with a smile.

You’ll often find me lounging in the sunniest spot of the shop, wagging my tail and welcoming customers with my best puppy grin. I might even show you my favorite plants—dad’s agave walls and those cool indoor living walls that make everything look like a jungle playground.

Finding Gratitude in the Stillness

As I lay on the cool cement floor of my shop at 1 PM, the desert sun blazes outside. Looking up at the ceiling, framed by the blue sky and swaying palm trees, I’m filled with gratitude.

Reflecting on my journey with “Plant This,” from uncertain beginnings to a thriving plant shop in Palm Springs, I realize everything happens for us, not to us. Challenges and negative encounters have shaped me, teaching resilience and the power of positivity.

Speaking with kindness, even in difficult times, nurtures both others and ourselves. Gazing at the layers of my shop’s ceiling and the sky beyond, I see the richness of my own journey.

Today, I am grateful for my business’s success, my community’s support, and these moments of reflection. Sharing a picture of my ceiling and shop, I’m reminded of how far I’ve come and how much I have to be thankful for.

I'm thrilled to share that Jon Giese has been busy creating remarkable text-based paintings with intricate words hand-painted in his special script.

This new body of work highlights Jonathan's exceptional creativity and versatility as an artist. Whether crafting a lush abstract composition or intricately hand-lettering text, he fully immerses the viewer in each painting. His instinct for color and emotion comes through in every brushstroke.

We love an interior, living tree. Jon often takes lesser known branches or plants (such as a fruiting olive tree or jade plant) cleans and prunes it into a most artful, graceful indoor tree. More trees, please!
