The Vaquero Show last weekend on August 10th was non stop fun!
4 bands and 4 Vendors!
Thank you Machii Michelle Lapointe,
Delana Lloyd, Cat Astrophe Chapman, and Michael Vallejo! Thomas Trigo took some great pictures!
BullPen demonstrated their talent with an Alt Rock set that set the stage for an awesome day. They are up and coming! Keep an eye and an ear out for this crew.
The Furys and Cliff Roman!!!
These guys are the OG’s.
The nicest guys too!
It was pretty awesome to witness their set from the late 70’s. Power Pop inspiration!
Mike Vallejo from Circle One was at this show with Records to Sell and Stories to Tell and he shared the recordings and the backstory on The Furys. Fascinating! Mike is awesome, has a great record collection, and a wealth of information. He said he is coming back to the next Vaquero Show 9/7.
Maybe we can get Circle One to play sometime soon?
Defeating The Purpose put on a clinic of songs with rock, Intensity, and charm!Kevin Ireland rode his Harley down from Santa Barbara with a crew. When I saw one of the leather vests had a MotorHead Patch, I knew we were in good hands!
Spider Baby, Mike Hart, Steven Todd Hart, Dave Anter, Aaron Abelt, finished the night with speed and chemistry. Fast, Furious, and Catchy! They are almost done with their 15 song recording. I wonder what they will do it with it? I hope it gets released soon!
Looking forward, mark September 7th on the calendar. Matt Hoover, Poison Well Records, and PMA have put on an extravaganza event not to be missed.
Starting at Vaquero with Hong Kong Frenzy and ending at The Sewer with IDecline this event has locals Fskd Front Street Knuckle Draggers, Toledo Panic, RAW Radio Active Waste and from 1984 Narthex Structure, The 90’s are being represented by 2 reunions, RubberBand and Power Chicken!!!
JackAss is doing an acoustic set.
Juan Dinero is in, Pito Pakeeto, Shim Come Quick, Venice Punks Cycotic Youth, and a Tribute Band to James Hoover.
Pace yourself, drink lots of water, and plan accordingly! This is a Ventura Punk Rock Festival. But remember, NOT My Circus, NOT My Monkees! Come on down and have a great time with old friends and maybe make a few new ones?
Cheers! And keep that PMA!!!
