The last Saturday Matinee was amazing and had a little something for everyone. Phester Swollen’s Blues Review was an awesome way to start the show off. They showed up in suit and tie and kicked out the blues! Phester rocked loud and proud. John Morris reminisced with me about sleeping on my brother’s kitchen floor in Seattle. That is Punk Rock!!!

Alpo and The Dissapointments played a battery of Late 70’s Harmonic Fun Punk Tunes and threw in a couple of covers. They sound great! Look for more shows with these guys soon.
There are rumors of a Skate Show coming up. Skate and Destroy!

John Mccree and 1 Square Mile played with Ferocious Energy.
Female Fronted Punk Rock!
This group has played up and down the California Coast, toured Australia, and we were lucky enough to get them right here in Ventura. If you missed them?
Don’t worry they said they want to come back soon!

All-A-Blur ended the show because Aaron forgot his cymbals. It was a whole thing, but don’t worry he returned with the cymbals and AAB blistered through an amazing set of classics and showcased 6 or so brand new songs.
The audience road tested these songs with their voices and applauds. It appears all the new tunes passed the
Smell test and the listen test.
All-A-Blur’s next show is FSKD’s Record Release Party from Poison Well Records, at GiGi’s November 9th!

The Saturday Matinee shows by
PMA Presents are getting better and better! Tomorrow, November 2nd, Gloria, the owner of Vaquero, has requested a special Day of the Dead show. People are encouraged to dress up for the celebration and our friend Davie Holifield will be present doing face art for those of you who celebrate. The show kicks off at 2:00 PM with a special acoustic set by John Young.
He can play and boy can he sing!
Get there early! Plot will be playing second. These cats are always so good and so cool!

Richard Duarte and Pakeeto play next. This crew can play! Fast, fun, harmonic! People are gonna love this band!

Last but not least. Spider Baby will close out the show. These grooves are like MotorHead meets the
Dead Kennedy’s!

Come for the fun, stay for the music, dress up, do the Sugar Skull, and say hi to Gloria! This is gonna be a show to remember! Cheers and Thank you!

The HardCore Carnival at Vaquero was a huge success! Bands reunited, performed, delivered, and entertained fans both new and old.
Hong Kong Frenzy kicked the show off with their Alt Rock tunes that were embraced by everyone. From there, the list of great bands goes on and on, Toledo Panic, Fskd Front Street Knuckle Draggers, RAW Radio Active Waste, and
Narthex Structure. What a total blast!
And if that wasn’t enough?
Nels Rosengren kicked out the Jams with the reunion of Power Chicken!
Immediately, people hit the dance floor
With nostalgic steps and smiles.
To end the day show, The RubberBand Crew took the stage and blasted their songs! They even played,
“Party Ass! Have a blast!” Pretty RAD!!!
Machii Michelle Lapointe, brought her
ArtCore to share with everyone. Her art is RAD! She also went above and beyond and snapped some classic band photos! Delana Lloyd had the coolest drink coolers decorated with local Punk Rock Bands and all sorts of other cool s**t! Get one while you can!
Cat Astrophe Chapman brought her talent and products, but people absolutely loved her faux flier wall with people talking about shows that they had attended and all the craziness that came along with it!
Matthew Hoover, Poison Well Records, PMA Presents put together one wild show! The second leg of the HardCore Carnival continued at The Sewer. That place was packed wall to wall and felt electric and alive with loud, proud, drunk, and obnoxious Bands and Fans! Needless to say, it was awesome!
Looking forward, the next Saturday Matinee is October 5th.
Phester Swollen of The Rotters, is showcasing his new Blues R***e Band featuring original bass player from Stalag 13! It’s pretty cool to watch someone’s musical career morph and change and grow. Check it out!
The Dissapointments do not Disappoint! Alpo is the epitome of Old School Punk Rock! He was in RKL, Rat Pack, and a slew of other bands. He has got records to sell and stories to tell!
Come party with The Dissapointments from Santa Barbara!

There are rumblings of new songs and possibly a new recording on the way!

The Furys and Cliff Roman!!!
These guys are the OG’s.
The nicest guys too!
It was pretty awesome to witness their set from the late 70’s. Power Pop inspiration!
Mike Vallejo from Circle One was at this show with Records to Sell and Stories to Tell and he shared the recordings and the backstory on The Furys. Fascinating! Mike is awesome, has a great record collection, and a wealth of information. He said he is coming back to the next Vaquero Show 9/7.
Maybe we can get Circle One to play sometime soon?

Defeating The Purpose put on a clinic of songs with rock, Intensity, and charm!Kevin Ireland rode his Harley down from Santa Barbara with a crew. When I saw one of the leather vests had a MotorHead Patch, I knew we were in good hands!

Spider Baby, Mike Hart, Steven Todd Hart, Dave Anter, Aaron Abelt, finished the night with speed and chemistry. Fast, Furious, and Catchy! They are almost done with their 15 song recording. I wonder what they will do it with it? I hope it gets released soon!

Looking forward, mark September 7th on the calendar. Matt Hoover, Poison Well Records, and PMA have put on an extravaganza event not to be missed.

Starting at Vaquero with Hong Kong Frenzy and ending at The Sewer with IDecline this event has locals Fskd Front Street Knuckle Draggers, Toledo Panic, RAW Radio Active Waste and from 1984 Narthex Structure, The 90’s are being represented by 2 reunions, RubberBand and Power Chicken!!!

JackAss is doing an acoustic set.
Juan Dinero is in, Pito Pakeeto, Shim Come Quick, Venice Punks Cycotic Youth, and a Tribute Band to James Hoover.

Pace yourself, drink lots of water, and plan accordingly! This is a Ventura Punk Rock Festival. But remember, NOT My Circus, NOT My Monkees! Come on down and have a great time with old friends and maybe make a few new ones?

The IDecline show at The Sewer last weekend was a wild one!!!
Drinks were flowing, bodies flying, voices screaming! I hope everyone has a chance to pick up the second Vinyl Release by IDecline titled Failure By Design!
Sunnie Daze opened the show acoustic with her pure talent!
What an amazing voice! She did a haunting rendition of a Muppets song,
Dreamer! Wow!!! Great job, Sunnie!

Billy McGraw from Raging Arb on lead guitar! This is a must see act!
Opening with a Misfits cover, blistering through their Punk Rock N Roll Vibe and ending with a Social Distortion cover!
Hats off to this project and line up!
They had the crowd on their feet!
IDecline closed out the evening with HardCore Punk Rock! Shaun Belanger screaming and yelling and story telling got the crowd involved and moving to the insanely fast Melodies. The guys
blew through the entire second album, followed by hits from their self titled first album. They then took requests from the crowd ending with their first single,
