As we close out launch week of our brand new identity, I can’t help but feel so grateful for this community, the TPE team, and being able to do what we do for couples and friendors alike. Something incredibly special happened this past weekend - we had a TPE fam wedding! My “little” brother got married 🥹💞
It was so strange seeing my brother as a groom, it feels like he grew up suddenly in one quick snap. Definitely lots of proud sister moments and of course the very best part - L as my new sister and getting to know all of our new family. Although we had several events planned over the course of a few days, the celebration went by way too quickly so a quick PSA to everyone - be present and soak it all in!!

Over 2 months later and we are still hardcore gushing over the “Camp Chu-Qin” wedding 🏕️ (swipe right to see their cute custom flag!)
It’s easy to see that B+C’s wedding was straight up magic. But today I’d like to share a little secret: we started off our wedding planning journey and venue search together in a completely different direction by looking for Italian countryside vibes. We looked at private estates and many venues with long, sprawling lawns in search of the perfect Tuscan dreamstate. Sometimes the perfect venue comes as a surprise, straight out of left field. Sometimes it’s not what you’re looking for at all, because you haven’t yet seen and experienced what could exist for your celebration outside of the “norms”.

“How many desserts should I order?” 🍰🤔
We get this question a lot! To be honest there’s no true magic number that works for every party. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend planning for at least 3x mini desserts per guest at a minimum.
Sometimes guests get excited and get one of each dessert, so how much variety you have also makes a difference. If you want to have enough of everything for everyone, it’s safer to plan for at 5-6x pieces for each guest 🧁👌🏼

🌼 Choose a florist you love based on their portfolio and general breadth of work that matches your desired aesthetic
🌼 Find visuals of florals you like for overall creative direction (you may not be able to find exact examples so a mixture of visuals and descriptions is a great way to convey what you’re looking for to make sure you are on the same page)
🌼 Let them know of any colors/florals you love (you don’t have to provide every single flower to be used – part of the magic comes from their recipes!)
🌼 Give your florist some creative space to play and fill in the gaps with their professional knowledge and expertise!

☀️ GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE SUN ☀️
We’re reminiscing on the incredible shower we threw for Yoko and Koen in honor of Noa, as we quickly approach almost 2 years of her joining us Earthside. It was so much fun to collaborate and design something creative together as a team as we often align on aesthetic preferences and decisions (it’s actually eerie how often Yoko and I like and choose similar things).
We always draw inspiration from all sorts of places and things for our designs – here are some words on what inspired Yoko, the lead designer, for her baby shower:
“I have always been enamored by the allure of Palm Springs. The Two Perfect Events team and I brainstormed ideas to incorporate that Palm Springs meets summer baby in California vibe. We wanted to feel like we were on a classic vacation in Palm Springs with surprise and delight inspirations drawn from Gray Malin’s retro aesthetics and Wes Anderson’s quirky style. The design of the custom photo backdrop set was inspired by Wes Anderson’s Mendl’s patisserie packaging from the movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

The most adorable camp-themed and whimsical floral save-the-dates and invitation suite gave guests a sneak peek into M+E’s majestic redwoods, fairytale florals, and overnight cabin wedding weekend experience 🏕️
Save-the-dates and invitations are the first touchpoint in getting guests excited for the celebration to come. They are the very first design decisions and elements that guests see, and are an extension of the overall wedding design (especially when there are beautiful flatlays like this that tie everything together with the big picture).

Our brand identity has been evolving since TPE first started out in 2013, and we realized how important it is to highlight one of our core true specialties: our ability to plan multicultural celebrations that feel both chic and organic.

When I+A’s venue closed to a water main break, we had about a month’s time to find a whole new venue and re-plan the entire wedding. Needless to say, the results were stunning, and the photos speak for themselves in how smooth and successful the wedding transplant was. It’s hard to believe we’re already almost in June! Where does the time go?? It has been incredible (and a lot bittersweet) to see so many of our 2024 weddings come to life so far this year. Graduation season is upon us, and we are reminiscing on this gorgeous summer poolside Delft-inspired graduation party we designed for a 2023 grad last year 🎓✨ Both her and her mom have an affinity for blue and white chinoiserie and Delft patterns, so we extended the design out to the guest tables surrounding the pool as an extension of the various blue and white wallpaper designs that fill their home.

The ambiance at your venue makes such a big difference in the overall event design. Often our couples will select their venue before finalizing on their colors and theme, which we agree is a great way of thinking about event design.
At a venue like (vibes for days!), there isn’t a lot more that needs to be added since the interior design and colors already bring so much to the table and palette. As designers, we consider the surrounding colors, textures, patterns, vibes, etc. when thinking about the overall event design.

We also are used to being independent and usually take care of things ourselves, so we understand how hard it can be to ask for help. Did you know we travel for weddings? Not only to the greater Bay Area but anywhere worldwide! 🌎 We are so excited for our upcoming 2024 travel weddings in Napa, Sonoma, Santa Cruz counties, and also up in Seattle! ✈️
Destination wedding planning is a little different and requires more of a lift on our side — we have to source and build out a whole new network if it’s a new destination. We love to travel though and it’s part of our creative process to always be seeking out new ideas and vendors to work with to make sure everything is the right fit for the vision.

A+S looked high and low for their perfect venue but weren’t quite finding the right fit. I’d like to share a little secret: the best wedding venues are usually not the ones that are marketed only for weddings and are not the ones you can easily search online.
Sure, it’s easy to see the beauty of typical wedding venues because there are many visual examples available. But there are so many hidden gems out there that can be amazing for a variety of different reasons. Whether it’s the architecture, uniqueness, value, or everything you’ve been looking for without having to compromise anything – there’s something magical about getting married in an untraditional wedding venue. I did the same for my own wedding and I love finding all the perfect hidden gems for our couples – it’s a lot like going through the sorting hat but for venues 🧙🏼

YES! We "do" proposals :) We planned this for an unsuspecting, young lady on this couple's vacation with friends in San Francisco! So adorable!
Two Perfect Events began with a simple desire to plan and coordinate events for other people. This turned into a great love of designing beautiful events, delving deep in every detail, and being a calming force in the face of chaos (inevitable part of every event). We do this because we love seeing our clients happy.
Our philosophy is that a great event is one that exudes the personality of the host. We strive to find personal touches that make each event unique. While some event planners will work only with a certain aesthetic or a minimum budget, we are backed with the experience and flexibility that allows us to be versatile with any aesthetic or budget.
Our other main focus is making the planning process streamlined and helping our clients make smart planning decisions to save time and stress. By doing this, along with creating strong bonds with the vendors we work with, and by giving clear and frank communication, we set our clients up for success to pull off events that are true to themselves. And we are always there on event days to support and make sure everything goes as planned.
We have developed an easy-to-use CRM system on Google Drive to guide our clients through planning. As our team expanded over the years, we’ve also added to our creative and design services to include digital and print design, art installations, and custom projects for our events.
The main basis of what allows us to keep doing what we do is that everyone just wants to put on a fun party without having to waste time by going through trial and error. Should you feel inclined to take us along for your journey, we’ll be sure to make it all easier and ensure that you throw the best party!
