Dear Bailey’s Family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news. Starting December 2nd, Bailey’s will close its doors for the foreseeable future. All future reservations will be canceled and fully refunded, and we are unable to accept new bookings at this time.

This decision was not made lightly, and the weight of it is immeasurable. We are deeply saddened by this turn of events and remain committed to reimagining Bailey’s future so that we can once again welcome you to this special place.

Bailey's on Palomar is hosting the local community Halloween event on Saturday, October 26th between 5pm and 7pm.

Guests and friends of Bailey's are welcome join the fun!

Costumes not required but definitely encouraged. Please bring a bag of your favorite Halloween candy to join the fun.

Kids get to Trick or Treat.

Adults get The Great Candy Swap without having to raid your kids plastic pumpkin.

Bailey's Store will be open for hot and cold drinks and other items if you want to look around.

Happy and proud to be a part of the great community of Palomar Mountain. We appreciate the owners generous donation of the BBQ for the 2nd Annual Palomar Mountain Hoedown, as well as the wonderful food from The Rib Shack. Thank you to everyone involved, we hope you had a great time!

Hi Friends,

I'm happy to share that we've got a soft serve ice cream machine now and will have a slush machine working shortly. If the heat is getting to you this weekend, swing by the Bailey's Store and grab a cold treat. We're making sundae's, root beer floats and classic ice cream cones.

Say hi to Hilda while you're there, she's the best!

We're getting a new freezer soon and then we'll also have all the popsicles and ice cream sandwiches you can stand!

And don't forget your are always welcome to join us in the Dance Hall for the ceramics classes with Terri. It goes on from 10am -12pm every Saturday.

We're open to the public:
Fri - 1pm to 8pm
Sat- 9am to 8pm
Sun- 10am -3pm.

Hi Bailey's Friends!

We have had a significant amount of snow and it continues to fall. We're out plowing and shoveling to make sure we are ready for you to visit this weekend.

However, because of the amount of snow we have now, it will require chains to get to your room if you are staying in any of the following fabulous yurts or cabins:

Hawk's Landing
Owl's Hollow
Eagle's Rise
Calliope
Falcon's Aerie
Raven's Rock
Redwood
Sequoia
Pine
Walnut

CHP is currently requiring chains to come up Palomar Mountain. We strongly suggest if you aren't in one of the above cabins that you do have chains with you. We expect more snow tomorrow.

Stay in your choice of mountaintop accommodations offering a range of experiences from luxury to historically rustic. Cabins, luxury yurts, modern cabins, and tent camping. For large groups who’d like to stay together, the old Palomar Mountain Hotel restoration with 8 bedrooms sleeps 19.

Bailey’s on Palomar is an authentically rustic property with a long history of hospitality stretching back to 1888. Our Historic Dancehall, the venue of choice for many of our bridal couples was built nearly 100 years ago and once hosted the small mountaintop neighborhood of Palomar Mountain and surrounding communities. Lively get-togethers with music, dancing, food, and drinks were common. The old soda fountain is still here! The original Palomar Mountain U.S. Post Office and General Store, originally run by the Bailey Family, are completely intact and filled with antiques and mountain artifacts. The last Baileys to work the property retired in 2018 and passed the torch to a new family. Our family.

Appreciating the legacy and sense of history we are now tasked with upholding - we are working hard to restore the old and bring in the new. Our dearest wish is to create a special mountain experience for all who wish to share in the magic of Palomar. Share the next exciting chapter of this fascinating historic property with us.
