"I don't know if those artistes who claim they suffered before they had a breakthrough really suffered in real life. But me, the way I suffered is still fresh in my memory. I still remember clearly, sitting at the road side in Ajegunle with my mum while she fried akara. Every rich man who drives their cars & stops by to buy akara from my mum, in my mind, I'd be wishing one of them would just say, young boy take this money. You really need it. But sadly it never happened.
Now that I'm where I am by God's grace, when I see someone in need, it brings back memories of my experience in poverty. And I'd put the person in my shoes. This is why nobody who comes across me in life will never leave without some impact from me. This is why I actually I do the little I can to support people today" - Don Jazzy
