I will be in and out of service for a while because I am going to ALASKA!

I am taking a quick break from weddings and families and all the things I usually shoot and am going to go shoot video and photos for a friend while they fish for salmon for two weeks.

If I don’t respond until July you know why! Also if you need to book photos before the end of summer I only have a few openings left but will have lots this fall ♥️

If you see Jace and our kids in the next few weeks and they are wearing wrinkly clothes or have messy hair you know why 😜

I spend my nights shooting photos and my days designing logos, websites, wedding invites, grad announcements and the list goes on!

This logo was for my BIL Lane who started a really awesome company to sell binocular keys and hunting pants. One of the best part of designing for companies is seeing the logo you did on all the products. Everyone go check his stuff out!

Ok last tip for today! Tip #3 is black is a classic color and will always look good in photos! Whenever someone books their photos and says they won’t have time to go shopping I always suggest black because it’s a color everyone has! Since black is such a statement color I don’t suggest having everyone wear black. This photo is a good example of black done super well!

Tip #2 for dressing your family for photos: Add textures and interest! These guys have patterns and textures and still pretty neutral and each kid has their own style incorporated!

Let’s talk about choosing clothes for family photos! Whenever people ask me what I would recommend I ALWAYS say neutrals and then maybe one or two colors if you want to throw in some variety. In this case navy totally works as a neutral! Don’t get me wrong! I love color too! But when neutrals are worn the colors of the location get to pop and not compete against your family 🤎

Working at home with kids my day never goes to plan 🥴 I can plan out my entire day and maybe 10% goes according to plan. This year I am trying to just go more with the flow. Some days my kids will need me more than others and I won’t be as productive but that’s OKAY! After working from home with my kids here with me for 5 years I am finally going to give myself some grace this year and not hate on myself for not getting everything done I put in my planner. Whose with me!?

2022 GOALS:

• Share share share! I suck at sharing all the awesome people I shoot so here’s to trying harder 🤪

• Did you know I design and print wedding invites? Probably not! I never talk about it but it is a passion of mine and want to do it more!

• Go to new beautiful places for sessions. If you have somewhere you would love pictures at let’s chat! I am usually ALWAYS down for a beautiful place.

Now that I have my top goals out in the Instagram world maybe I will hold myself more accountable 😜 we will see come January 2023!

What a year! Thank you to everyone who hired me to take their photos and to let me chat their ears off during the whole session 😂 (blaming it on being at home with my kids all day) no but really! I am so grateful! You guys are the best and help me love my career! Can’t wait for what 2022 brings!!
