Some of our clients have been around since the beginning and we are still taking their family photos!! I’m currently in the process of transferring over all of Dell and Davey’s photos to our new gallery delivery system so I can send them their most recent session and all previous ones. The craziest part? This only goes back to 2015, and I’ve been taking their photos since 2010! So their gallery is going to be chock full of memories as soon as I send this their way! 🥲 We are so grateful to get to watch so many stories unfold in front of our lens… ♥️

Family session season is in full swing! Jenny had a blast running around Dunton Locks County Park with Katie, Mike, and their amazing kiddos! One of our favorite things is capturing the personalities of the littles in the family, and these kids have a LOT of personality to document! ❤️ Thanks for running around the park with me!

When Joanna reached out to us for family photos, she said she wanted to do it in leisure athletic gear on an outdoor basketball court near their home. I was SO excited to do this session! Getting to do a laid-back session involving a sport that is a huge part of their lives (Daved has been a basketball coach for years and is now also the athletic director at a college nearby) was such a vibe... as you can see! 😍

Our whole purpose is to tell your story and show you just how beautiful it is. We'd love to document your family this fall!

Ever wanted a peek into what we actually deliver? Well, here you go!

Maddie was the winner of our 30-minute maternity session (and a 1-hour newborn session sometime soon!) back in March. I was so excited when she was ready to book her session! I’ve known Maddie since she was in middle school, so when she won the giveaway I was SO excited (and felt old). She almost didn’t do the session though, because her husband’s work schedule didn’t allow for him to get away for a session. (Special shout out to our farmers!! Thank you for what you do!) I suggested she still come and get some of just her and her baby bump, and she jumped on the idea!

Maddie, you literally glow. Motherhood looks amazing on you. ♥️ I am so excited to meet your little love soon!

When Christine and I were talking about Kurt and her engagement session, she mentioned that she really didn’t want to just walk around and pose. She said she wanted to incorporate something fun and reflective of their vibe and their relationship. We decided nerdy outfits, vintage lawn furniture, pizza, , alleyways, and ice cream from were a solid representation of who they are as individuals and a couple… and I am in LOVE with how these turned out!!

Saying goodbye to 30-minute sessions... 30-minute mini sessions will not be available for booking on our main website as of June 8th.

We've got the "to the point" version for this post and a "here's the story" version as well. Continue reading below for whichever one suites you better.

👉 The "to the point" version:
As of June 8th, the option to book a 30-minute mini session will no longer be available. We will be offering mini-mini (15-minute) session marathons on designated days throughout the year in both Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids.

If you'd still like to book a 30-minute session at a point of your choosing this year, you can purchase a gift card for a 30-minute session no later than June 8th. This gift card will include a private website where you can book your 30-minute session for an available time of your choosing.

As of October 31st, Jennifer Christi Photo & Video will no longer offer 30-minute mini sessions unless in a mini session marathon.

📖 The "here's the story" version:
So many changes have happened for us over the last few years. Everyone on our team has moved out of Detroit Lakes, with the majority of us landing in the Park Rapids area. With most of our [incredible] clientele being in Detroit Lakes, we still want to serve you and tell your stories well. We have loved working with so many of you and are grateful for each story we've had the honor of documenting.

A large part of the decision to take 30-minute sessions off the booking site and only offer them during marathon session days came from the reality of our distance from Detroit Lakes. To photograph a 30-minute session in the DL area means we are driving about 80 miles/1.5 hours for each session. We LOVE what we do and we love working with YOU... and we can't justify that session and drive time exchange without some major changes to cost or simply doing a full day of sessions, as we do during a mini-session marathon.

Additionally, we've found a couple of incredible indoor spaces to utilize for mini-session marathons here in Park Rapids. We held a couple marathons for Mother's Day and they went amazing in these spaces!

We have an industrial, large windows, wood floor studio we can rent, as well as a good relationship with a greenhouse here in town. We still don't know of any in the Detroit Lake area, so for now our mini-session marathons will continue to be outdoors. But if you know of anywhere we could host indoor minis, please let me know! We have found that our 15-minute mini mini sessions are a quick and really efficient way to update family photos, headshots, and kiddo portraits. We've noticed parents are less stressed and even happier with the results because they're honestly just hoping for "one good photo" and we get to send them a full gallery.

So all of that is what leads us to this decision. We know many of you book 30-minute sessions throughout the year, so we wanted to give you one more Summer/Fall season to get your 30-minute session photographed.

If you'd still like to book a 30-minute session at a point of your choosing this year, you can purchase a gift card for a 30-minute session before June 8th. This gift card will include a private website where you can book your 30-minute session for an available time of your choosing. The session must be booked no later than October 31st.

This last week we had our first set of Mama Minis at the Armory Arts & Events Center in Park Rapids, and it was so much fun! I (Jenny) had a blast capturing moments between so many moms, a soon-to-be mom, and even Grandma with these incredible kiddos.

We have two dates open yet for Mama Minis. On April 13th, Christine will be doing photos at Dunton Locks in Detroit Lakes. On April 27th, Jenny will be at Hafner’s Greenhouse!
