28 years ago today, the world saw J.R. Ewing make his iconic return in Dallas: J.R. Returns! 📺 The unforgettable cliffhanger of the 1991 finale was finally resolved, as J.R. returned to fight for his family and regain control of Ewing Oil from his rival, Cliff Barnes.

It was hard to believe J.R. would actually return! His dramatic comeback left fans wondering—was it just a twist, or was he truly back for good? What was your reaction when he showed up at Southfork again? 👀

Today, we remember and celebrate the birthday of Barbara Bel Geddes, best known to us as the beloved Miss Ellie Ewing. ✨ Her strength, grace, and unforgettable presence made her the true heart of Dallas — a sentiment shared by her on-screen son, Larry Hagman, who called her “the rock of Dallas.” In 1980, Barbara’s portrayal earned her an Emmy for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, with two additional nominations during her time on the show. Join us in celebrating her lasting legacy here at Southfork. 🌹
