I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Parkersburg community and surrounding areas, and announce my retirement after 33 years. It has been a joy and a privilege to work and serve with each one of you. God has truly blessed me with working and owning J&J’s Personal Touch / J&J On the Avenue in the bridal and formalwear industry for 33 years. It has forever changed my life. Meeting and helping so many people on their most important day has been an honor, and I’m so appreciative for that opportunity. Helping each one of you find the perfect wedding gown, prom dress, homecoming dress, military ball gown, bridesmaid dress, mothers, flower girls, or any other special occasion or event has been a delight. Thank you to all the brides who allowed me to deliver, dress, coordinate, decorate, and even cater their wedding. You have truly blessed my life. It was not always about selling you a dress, it was the personal touch, and becoming part of my family. We have made so many memories over the years.
I have some people I need to thank. I want to first Thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity to serve others. It has always been my mission to love, serve and help others. Thank you Father God for guiding me in every aspect of the business.
I want to thank my parents Donald and Janet McVay. They are no longer with me on this earth, but they are forever in my heart, and I will see them again. Thank you for seeing my dreams come true, and financially making it a reality. I miss you both so much.
I want to thank the loves of my life, my husband Rick, and my daughter Jaylyne for always supporting me, praying for me, helping me, and cheering me on no matter what. I love you so much.
I want to especially thank Elizabeth ( Beth) Parsons . You have been with me for the past 15 years. Your passion, commitment, your vision, your talent is like no other. You have been there for me in the highest joys and the deepest trials. When both of my parents passed away suddenly, you stepped in and took over when I couldn’t. You managed the business, and proceeded to run it, so I didn’t need to worry. There are no words to tell you what that has meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are truly family and forever I am grateful. Thank you for always being beside me through all of this. I will miss seeing you everyday, but you will always be a part of me.
Thank you to all the employees that have worked for me over the years. You are amazing, and I thank you for being a valuable part of the growth of J&Js over the years.
May 24, 2019 will be our last day to serve the Mid Ohio Valley. Watch for special sales on everything in the store. If you know of anyone that is thinking of owning a business, come see me. One last thing I would like to say is to please shop small and local. These owners put a lot of time and energy into what they love. Thank you again for your prayers and thank you for 33 wonderful years.
God Bless you all,
Julie Morgan
