This past week was a difficult one for our team, though we were blessed to be passed over by Helene, and all of our team members are safe, with no damage to our homes. For that, we are grateful.
Watching the devastation brought on our Gulf Coast by was heart-breaking. We watched venues that we’ve worked with on the news under several feet of water, and looked at our calendars anticipating the number of weddings that may need to be rescheduled or relocated, knowing we’d be having difficult conversations with brides who were also watching the situation unfold.
We checked in with vendors who suffered damages or complete losses of their homes and businesses (including some who weren’t even able to get to their homes to assess damage until last night), and we’ve been busy working with brides to check in on venues for planned events in the St. Pete, Siesta Key, and Sanibel/Captiva areas who have upcoming weddings and are either receiving cancellation notices or confirming that their venues survived the storm. Sadly, many did not.
Now we have a second storm brewing that we’ll be monitoring closely for our upcoming events, and we’ll be reaching out to those brides this week to discuss as the cone comes into agreement on a track.
If you are a fellow vendor in need, please reach out to us. If you are facing storm-related cancellations and have openings on your calendar, we may have brides who need your services. If you are a venue that survived the storm, let us know.
If you are a bride who lost venues or vendors because of the storm, and you need help reorganizing your event, we are here to help. We may be able to help you re-book for your event date at a new venue, or assist you with any vendor needs or speed wedding planning needs to reschedule.
As we’ve said so many times this past weekend, our first priority is supporting our local venues and vendors in their time of need, and giving them some needed time to assess the damages to their venues and their realistic reopening schedules. They are , and they will be working tirelessly to restore their businesses and communities.
