Laleure Vineyards & Winery Cabernet franc still undergoing natural dehydration. Grapes still look good at around 6 weeks, so an appassimento like process might turn out a nice wine. It’s all an experiment!

Cab franc grapes have been shriveling for about a month now in our corn crib which is designed to promote dehydration. Brix is up 3 points to 26 so far. Fruit still not breaking down so we will let it go a while longer and then see what kind of wine it will make.

Live at Laleure

10/25/2024

Tonight at 6:30 PM at Laleure Vineyards & Winery in Parkman Township, purchase a bottle of Nine Bridges white or red ($2 will support Geauga Park District) and enjoy the traditional fiddle music of Hey Mavis (www.heymavis.com)!

Eleven years ago, banjoist/songwriter Laurie Michelle Caner and violinist/fiddler Eddie Caner formed Hey Mavis while serving as artists-in-residence in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The duo has appeared on NPR’s Mountain Stage, NPR’s Whad'ya Know?, PBS’s Applause and PBS's Songs from the Center, and in 2018, Melissa Etheridge hand-picked Hey Mavis to be a headliner on her music cruise.

This is the last weekend for our wonderful summer-long partnership with Laleure, and we're so grateful both for their donations and YOUR support in trying a local winery you either already loved or had not yet discovered. Laleure's hours this weekend are today (Friday) noon to 8 PM (or later) and Saturday noon to 5 PM. Cheers! 🥂
