The International Center for Music at Park University trains and educates the next generation of accomplished musicians for careers in music at the highest level, in a focused and creative atmosphere with an international faculty of renowned excellence. His artistry won him the Gold Medal at the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, where he also took home the Steven De Groote Memorial

Award for Best Performance of Chamber Music. Ben Sayevich, Violin, Lithuanian-Israeli violinist Ben Sayevich has established himself as one of the most distinguished violinists and teachers of his generation. Daniel Veis, Cello, has been recognized as the finest Czech cellist since winning the First Prize at 1976 Prague Spring Competition and the Silver Medal at 1978 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Lo**ta Lisovskaya-Sayevich, Piano, is a collaborative pianist at Park University's International Center for Music. She received first prices in the Iowa Piano International Competition (2007), Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition (1996) and Chopin International Piano Competition (1993).

Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Philharmonic Association, Maestra Jackson, returned for her third engagement with the 🎻✨ ICM Orchestra, bringing an exquisite program to life.

TONIGHT! FREE concert at Park University!! It is the next concert of the 2024-25 season tonight, November 1st, 7:30 PM, at the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel. The program will be under the direction of guest conductor Laura Jackson, Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Philharmonic Association, who is returning for her third engagement with the ICM Orchestra. Maestra Jackson has selected a program of works for string orchestra, with music by Benjamin Britten, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Antonin Dvorak being featured.

The magnificent Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral was the awe inspiring backdrop for "Mad About Mozart" last evening, the opening concert of the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra's 38th Season. The International Center for Music at Park University graduate student, pianist Yangrui Cai, performed Mozart's Concerto No. 24 in this all-Mozart program. Thank you KC Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Bruce Sorrell for continuing to further our wonderful collaboration. Yangrui Cai, one of The International Center for Music at Park University graduate students, will be performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24. with Kansas City Chamber Orchestra this coming Wednesday, Oct 9th. Yangrui studies with 2001 Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch and is himself an award-winning pianist so this is a concert not to be missed!
Yangrui hails from Hunan China where he graduated with distinction from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music. He earned his Bachelor's from Oberlin Conservatory and is now pursuing his Master of Music at Park. An artist with varied interests, ranging from painting to cooking to drone flying, Yangrui's commitment to music is distinct: "Since a young age, I found piano playing as the best way to express feelings that are difficult to convey. It is the purest means of communication."

“Shmukler is a volcano! The name of Ilya Shmukler should be remembered!” That is how the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung described Ilya after his triumph at the world-renowned Concours Géza Anda Zürich 2024 in Zurich, Switzerland, where he won four special awards in addition to the First Prize.

Congratulations to Park ICM graduate student, Tatiana Dorokhova, who was awarded second prize in the prestigious George Enescu Festival International Competition. Named for renowned Romanian violinist, pianist, composer, pedagogue and conductor, George Enescu, the competition began September 13 and culminated yesterday with the exciting final held in the gorgeous Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. Tatiana performed Brahm's Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, Op. 15 accompanied by the esteemed Filarmonica George Enescu. Tatiana continues to wow audiences with her artistry, technique and deep understanding on the music. We are so very proud of you, Tatiana!

The International Center for Music at Park University alumnus Behzod Abduraimov performs with friend and fellow Park ICM alum, Shah Sadikov, and the orchestras of Park University and NAVO tomorrow night, September 20th at 7:30pm at the Folly Theater. Tickets and more information can be found at icm.park.edu. But first, Behzod stopped by Classical KC for a trip down memory lane and his time here in Kansas City during the earliest years of his education by teacher and mentor Stanislav Ioudenitch.
