The members of the High school Quest class have spent a few days in the last couple of weeks volunteering at Priceless Gifts Toy Store" (a charity based giift store that has been up and running in the Westwood mall, offering Christmas gifts for families in need. ) Today Friday December, 13, we took a class field trip and all worked with the other workers getting things ready for the end of the season. The students worked hard, got a lot accomplished, and represented Western Schools with class.
A special Thank you goes out to Justin Chapko, Josh Corts, Brady Kubiak, Tyler Minear, Reed Myers, and Brody Videto, who put in multiple days and hours, helping this very worthwhile organization that provided Christmas clothes, and Toys to well over 300 families in the last few weeks..

Today - Steele Fortress met with interested students for Pizza with Professionals. About 40 students listened as Steele encouraged them to pursue skilled trades and not to feel discouraged if they are uncertain of their career path. He also gave us interesting details on the construction of our New Elementary school across the street. Thank you Steele!

WHS Counselors and the College & Career Access Center hosted a Pizza Party to help Seniors get started on their FAFSA on Friday. Seniors created their accounts, left confident in their abilities to help their contributors do the same, ate some amazing Burkhart’s Pizza and even won some prizes. Watch for more FAFSA events throughout the season!

Today Alyssa Griswold came in to speak with students about careers in genetic counseling. We had a full house and students from all grade levels were able to listen and learn. We love providing these opportunities for our amazing WHS students at our monthly pizza with professionals event.

On Wednesday, we had our monthly Cones with Counselor's event. This month we celebrated and recognized our juniors and seniors who helped at 5th grade camp. We really appreciate our students who volunteer their time and invest in the future of Western School District and community.
