Let's all go to the Soup Fest on the NEW DATE: Saturday, FEBRUARY 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., hosted by Magothy United Methodist Church of the Deaf, 3703 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD (Originally scheduled for January 11th - Snow Storm may make travel that day hazardous, so SOUP FEST is now RESCHEDULED to February 1st)

November 1st is All Saints Day for the United Methodist Church. This Sunday, November 3rd, is All Saints Sunday and we'll be celebrating that in both the 9 a.m. and 10:30 worship services at Magothy UMC, 3703 Mountain Rd. in Pasadena, MD 21122. Please consider attending this week in remembrance of someone important to you who influenced your faith but who has passed away, and remember and be inspired by their spirit when the bell is rung.

Our hearts go out to those who have experienced the impact of Hurricane Helene and its aftermath. Sometimes, we are left speechless in seeing the power of such a force of water and wind. Please pray with us for those who have lost loved one, those who are searching for the missing, and those who are struggling to re-build their lives.
Powerful God, surround with care the communities that have been ravaged by the floods. Comfort the people, especially for the families of those who are missing or who have lost their lives. Empower the first responders who risk their own lives to save others. Restore clean water and dry, safe places to sleep. Strengthen those who face the days ahead. Grant that everyone who is experiencing shock and loss will experience Your peace, Your comfort, and Your might, now and as they struggle to manage the restoration of infrastructure on which we all rely and that they are suddenly without. Make opportunities available for those in need of a place to call home, health care, power, transportation, and a source of vital supplies. We pray in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus. Amen.

UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church dedicated to alleviating human suffering. UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through UMCOR, United Methodists extend loving care to people within the United States. When disaster strikes, it is local churches that provide the first response to their communities.

THIS Sunday (Sept 22nd) is probably going to be the last 9 a.m. outdoor Worship service for this season in The Chapel in the Woods amphitheater. If it rains a lot this evening, we'll move indoors to the charming 1850's White Chapel instead.
You're invited - Please join us this week for traditional worship at 9 or contemporary praise music at 10:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Nursery care (under 4 years) and Sunday School for children and adults will be underway at 10:30 in the Education Building.
