Support LACC@HOLA
This winter Los Angeles Children’s Chorus solidified a partnership with Heart of Los Angeles to create LACC@HOLA. This meaningful collaboration was years in the making and launched with a cohort of twenty-five singers based in Central Los Angeles. LACC and HOLA have served the LA County community for thirty-eight and thirty-five years respectively, transforming countless young lives with educational programs.
LACC’s expansion of our programs to Central LA is integral to Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz’s vision. In his words, “The HOLA partnership is the culmination of years of planning, and it represents the first steps towards the fulfillment of a dream to provide access to children all over LA County to the transformative power of choral singing.”
LACC@HOLA began with choristers ranging in age from 7 to 10 taking part in an eight-week season in 2024. They were joined by mentor students from our Pasadena-based program, and they performed in tandem with our Apprentice Choir at the close of their season. The inaugural program was a tremendous success!
Our plan is to expand this program as the initial choristers grow into upper ensembles. In time, LACC@HOLA will have the same comprehensive musicianship and touring program as the Pasadena-based choirs.
Choristers in the HOLA cohort take part in LACC’s renowned choral training programs tuition-free, with all uniforms and supplies provided to them at no cost. To achieve its goals, LACC@HOLA needs your support. A donation to LACC@HOLA directly supports a young chorister from an underserved population, bringing music and community into their lives.
In honor of our 2024 inaugural season, please consider the following commitments:
- $2024 – underwrites tuition for an LACC@HOLA participant;
- $224 – underwrites the concert and casual uniform supplies for an LACC@HOLA participant;
- $24 – underwrites the sheet music for an LACC@HOLA participant.
Thank you for supporting this life-changing initiat

Let it Shine
An impromptu performance of "Let it Shine" by LACC's Touring Ensemble at Mother's Restaurant in New Orleans :)
Learning important life lessons as we prepared for our first concert at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in New Orleans.
In January LACC announced our new ensemble, LACC@HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles), a free satellite choir that brings LACC’s world-class choral music education programs to the HOLA campus in Lafayette Park, reaching underserved youth in Central and South Central Los Angeles.
Please enjoy this video—which we shared at our Spring Benefit—that documents the wonderful success of LACC@HOLA and the impact it has already had on the choristers involved.
