Games run today, Sunday, and Monday in the HAPO ice Pavilion (around the back) at the HAPO Center. Played on half-ice, these games are fast-paced and fun for everyone to watch!

A shout out goes to Janine Jackson, Brandi Kovis, and a team of volunteers who have worked hard to organize and plan this years event.

Games are played today, Sunday, and Monday at the Hapo Center so there’s plenty of time to stop by and take in a game or two… or four! The games are played on half-ice and are a blast to watch.

It’s a wonderful weekend of hockey as we pay tribute to a wonderful person who loved the game, the families, and especially the kids who participate in Youth Hockey here in the Tri-Cities, the state of Washington, and the Pacific Northwest.

A heartfelt thank you to Commissioner Stephen Bauman for spearheading an incredible volunteer day at the HAPO Center! With the support of Franklin County and City of Pasco council members, as well as dedicated community members and their families, the team tackled a major cleanup and leveling project in the north lot of our facility.

This amazing effort, which included generous donations of time, equipment, and hard work, has completely transformed the area. And the contributions don’t stop there—over 1,000 tons of gravel will soon be added to further enhance the space!

We are deeply grateful for this outstanding collaboration and the positive impact it will have on our community. Thank you to everyone involved for your commitment and generosity!

Drive the Zamboni at the HAPO Center Ice Pavilion! 🤩

Join our team as the Ice Rink Manager/Primary Zamboni Driver and help create a top-notch skating experience for our
youth and adult hockey leagues. If you are interested in leading a staff of three and maintaining ice surfaces and
ensuring a safe environment for skaters, we would welcome your application.

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Ice Rink Manager and Primary Zamboni Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the ice rink’s surface to
ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all skaters and athletes. Your primary responsibility will be operating the
Zamboni ice resurfacer to clean and smooth the ice and maintain a clean environment for all who visit.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance on the Zamboni machine to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor ice conditions and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality.
- Maintain ice-cutting schedule and repairs and ice surface as required, including edging and flooding the ice.
- Collaborate with rink staff to coordinate ice-resurfacing schedules efficiently.
- Manage work schedules of other staff to ensure all shifts are covered.
- Assist with general custodial duties around the facility as needed.
- Report mechanical malfunctions and safety issues to management.
- Opens and/or closes the building depending on your scheduled shift.
SKILLS
- 1-2 years’ experience operating and maintaining Zamboni or similar ice resurfacing equipment. (Willing to train
the right person)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment if needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Valid driver’s license
- Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to handle cold temperatures.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 per week

We were honored to host the Basic Law Enforcement Academy Graduation – Class 899 🎓 at the Hapo Center!

We joined in celebrating the incredible achievements of 32 recruits as they graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Southeast Regional Campus in Pasco, WA.
