It’s time to celebrate. We’re spending the last day of the press trip on the eastern side of PR, starting out at Rava Wines, the key driver of the sparkling wine movement in Paso. Rava Wines is a 3rd generation brand founded in 1996 and is located in El Pomar AVA. The 80-acre estate was formerly a horse ranch purchased in 2010. They built a state-of-the-art sparkling wine processing facility focused on the classical French method of making bubbles. An estimated 25 other wineries make sparkling here, including Phil LaMontagne of Bodega de Edgar and Jason Bushong of Bushong Vintage Company. Leading us on tour of the processing facility is Sherrie Holzer of RAVA.

RAVA’s tasting room is open daily 10-5pm. Charcuterie and savory snacks are available for purchase. There’s a state-of-the-art indoor concert space onsite that can seat about 1,000 people and an outdoor space adjacent to the tasting room. Onsite weddings are accommodated for up to 1,000 guests.

Happy Birthday Month to our winemaker .holzer 🥂
Sherrie Holzer moved to beautiful Paso Robles to make wine in 2007, after college and learning to make sparkling wine in Healdsburg. She earned her Wine Business Management Certificate from Sonoma State and her Enology and Chemistry degrees at Fresno State. She has WSET Level 3 Certification and has been judging professionally at commercial wine competitions since 2010.
Sherrie’s first winemaking job was at J Sparkling Wines in Healdsburg. At J Sparkling Wines, Sherrie made sparkling Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay using the Methode Champenoise technique.
After moving to Paso Robles to be closer to family, Sherrie made wine at Castoro Cellars producing over 30 different wines annually including Rhône, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Spanish, and Italian varietals.
Sherrie has come full circle and is thrilled to be making sparkling wine again! Sparkling wine has always been her true love and calling.

The California Mid-State Fair has announced the winners of the 22nd Annual Central Coast Wine Competition (CCWC)🥇🥇🥇Rava Wines was awarded three Gold Medals for our 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sparkling Albariño and Sparkling Blanc de Noir wines! Congratulations to all the winning wineries for this remarkable achievement and their commitment to excellence in winemaking.

We are honored to be a small part of the 15th annual “Share the Hope” event. The event was held at Hearst Ranch and Hearst Castle, where guests enjoyed Sparkling Blanc de Noir and Rosé🥂 The event raised more than $464,000 to benefit the Hearst Cancer Resource Center (HCRC) at French Hospital. Funds will support the HCRC Endowment, which provides vital long-term support for the HCRC, allowing its programs and services to continue providing comfort, support, and information to cancer patients and their families, regardless of their ability to pay for services, for many years to come.
