🌟 Celebrate Maria Tallchief's Legacy at the Constantine Theater! 🌟

The Osage Nation is proud to invite you to a special event honoring the launch of the Barbie Inspiring Women doll in memory of Maria Tallchief, the first Native American prima ballerina! Join us for an inspiring celebration of her legacy and contributions to the world of ballet.

📅 Date: Monday, November 18, 2024
🕒 Time: 10 a.m.
📍 Location: Constantine Theater, Pawhuska, OK

The honoring will feature:

🎶 Oscar-nominated Osage singer Scott George
🪶Grayhorse Tail dancers
🩰A special performance by Josee Lane and Waylon Malone from Dancemaker Academy, performing the iconic Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy—a role that Maria Tallchief originated in George Balanchine’s 1954 version of The Nutcracker for the New York City Ballet.

In collaboration with Mattel, Maria Tallchief's family, and the Osage community, this event celebrates a trailblazer in ballet and a powerful figure in Native American history. Bring family and friends to experience this tribute to an inspiring legend.

Beth and I would like to say thank you to all of you who came out to enjoy Jeff Allen and support the theater. We appreciate each one of you. Based on the levels of laughter, everyone had a great time. We have several great events coming up soon including the Nutcracker in December. We have invested in all new lighting for it this year and cannot wait to host the ballet. Thanks again and see you soon at the Constantine!
