Thank you Paxico People for another year of keeping the Blues Alive! And alive and well it is, we heard from you all this was our best year of music and food yet, and certainly our largest crowd ever.

We’re all brothers and sisters and rember that no matter what’s going on in the world, there’s more that unites us than divides us. Thousands of people from many different backgrounds can come together and get along, show love, have fun, and dance their tail feathers off. That’s the healing power of music baby. The blues is our business, and business is good.

Spread peace, and we’ll see you next year.

May Pax be with you. And also with you.

🤠Message From the Sheriff🤠

Howdy there, it’s the Sheriff here.
Like a Mill Creek spring, let’s make a few things clear.

All are welcome to Paxico the third Saturday in September.
But first, a few important things to remember.

When you’re in Paxico we treat you all like our sisters and brothers.
So respect one another because we’re all Blues lovers.

The Flint Hills are majestic, so respect them too.
And leave all around you better than when it was handed it to you.

We learn many lessons from those here first, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation tribe.
Remember to preserve, value, and keep their culture alive.

We’re a small group of people giving you this big thing for free.
So when that donation bucket comes around we thank you for your generosity.

We support the artists, the community, and a real good hootenanny too.
So dance, eat, antique, and make a new friend or two.

The Blues is one of Americas greatest art forms and we’ll never let it fall.
One Nation, Under the Blues, with Liberty and Justice for All.

Dubiously yours,

The Sheriff

See Ya Soon!

Can't wait for the Paxico Blues Festival & Mountain Oyster Fry today!!

I know when people think "Blues Music" they don’t immediately think “tiny Kansas town with more cows than people" & that's true 😅 yet we’ve actually got some hardcore serious history of rebellion & contrarian ideological festivities here thus blues & rock n roll fit right in.

Wabaunsee County was founded by ARMED & LITERATE YANKEE ABOLITIONISTS 🤟 We were a Free State hotspot way before Kansas was even Kansas. Don’t let the gorgeous scenery fool you… folks around here have always had a little fire in their belly.

There’s a real church in Wabaunsee Township called the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church. Back in the 1850's Kansas was basically the UFC of slavery politics and preacher Henry Ward Beecher from NEW YAWK ❤️😎❤️ moved out here & thought the best way to fight slavery wasn't just with Bibles, he decided to add some boom sticks into the mix by secretly shipping tons of rifles and pistols out here to Kansas Territory anti-slavery settlers past Missouri Milita check points inside crates labeled “Bibles.” Total legend move.

The abolitionist settlers out here weren’t messing around. They were part of the Underground Railroad, fought off pro slavery mobs, and basically ran a holy special ops unit in the Flint Hills. Nowadays it’s a quiet historical site, but let’s be honest "Beecher Bible and Rifle Church" sounds like a place to get baptized then fix you some bayonets.

That same fire’s alive today, it just happens to come with guitars, harmonicas, and cold beer now. So whether you’re here to get your soul fixed by some blues, hunt for vinyl, or just wander around with a tasty roast turkey leg, welcome. We’re glad you’re here!

Please tip your bartenders, enjoy the weekend & enjoy the tunes!!

Stay safe,
Sheriff Kirsch
