What an amazing adventure I've had! 🎉

I kicked off my weekend by hosting a fabulous Galentine event in Mesa with family and friends, and it was such a blast!

This morning at 10:30, 20 wonderful ladies joined us at Muks Candles and Cocktails, where we enjoyed the most delicious mimosas and charcuterie boards for our breakfast Galentine’s celebration. 🍾🧀

The day continued with a birthday bash in Camp Verde, where I collaborated with my dear friend Mai for an intimate Galentine workshop. As the afternoon wrapped up, my brother, Mai, my mom, and Maya’s mom, who flew in from California, ended the day at Moscato’s in Camp Verde. It was truly an incredible two days filled with love, smiles, and breathtaking designs from everyone! 💖

A huge thank you to all who attended! Here’s to many more gatherings ahead. Keep an eye out after Valentine’s Day for our monthly workshops! If you have any ideas, we would love to hear them. Cheers to us, ladies! Happy Galentine’s! 🥂✨

Cultivating herbs in water is a simple and space-efficient approach for indoor gardeners or those with limited outdoor areas. This technique not only ensures a steady supply of fresh herbs in your kitchen throughout the year but also reduces the need for soil and frequent watering. Here are seven herbs that flourish in water and tips on how to grow them at home.

1. **Basil**
Basil is a favorite for water propagation, known for its aromatic leaves that enhance sauces, salads, and garnishes.
**How to grow:** Take a 4-6 inch cutting from a healthy basil plant, ensuring it has at least two pairs of leaves. Place the stem in a glass of water, keeping the leaves above the waterline to prevent rot. Change the water every few days, and within 2-3 weeks, you should see roots developing. Once the roots reach about 2 inches, you can either move the plant to soil or continue growing it in water.

2. **Mint**
Mint grows easily in water and can spread rapidly in soil, making it a great choice for contained growth. It's perfect for teas, desserts, and refreshing beverages like mojitos.
**How to grow:** Take a cutting from a healthy mint plant and remove the lower leaves. Place the stem in a jar or bottle filled with water, changing the water every 3-4 days. Roots will start to form within 1-2 weeks, and mint thrives in indirect sunlight, making it ideal for indoor cultivation.

3. **Oregano**
Oregano is a robust herb that does well in water. This Mediterranean favorite is perfect for seasoning pizzas, soups, and pastas.
**How to grow:** Cut a 5-6 inch sprig from an oregano plant and place it in a glass of water on a sunny windowsill. Change the water regularly every few days. Roots typically develop in 2-3 weeks, allowing you to pot the plant or keep it in water.

4. **Thyme**
Thyme is a resilient herb that adapts well to water cultivation. It's commonly used to season meats, soups, and stews, and is known for its medicinal benefits.
**How to grow:** Snip a fresh 3-4 inch cutting of thyme and place it in a container of water. Change the water every 2-3 days to maintain freshness. Roots will start to grow in about 2-4 weeks, after which you can keep it in water or transfer it to a pot.

5. **Rosemary**
While rosemary may take longer to root compared to other herbs, it’s a worthwhile endeavor. This aromatic herb is excellent for roasting meats and vegetables and can be used in homemade skincare.
**How to grow:** Cut a 6-8 inch stem from a mature rosemary plant, remove the lower leaves, and place it in a glass of water. Keep it in a sunny spot and change the water every few days. Roots may take 6-8 weeks to appear, but once established, rosemary can thrive in water indefinitely.

6. **Sage**
Sage offers a robust flavor and is essential in many savory dishes, particularly in the colder months. It also adapts well to water growth.
**How to grow:** Take a 4-5 inch cutting from a healthy sage plant and place it in a container of water. Sage prefers indirect sunlight, so position it in a well-lit area without direct sun exposure. Change the water regularly, and roots should develop in about 3 weeks.

7. **Lemon Balm**
Lemon balm, a lemon-scented herb from the mint family, is known for its calming properties. It can be used in teas, desserts, and as a garnish.
**How to grow:** Take a 5-6 inch cutting from a lemon balm plant, remove the lower leaves, and place it in a jar of water. It thrives in indirect sunlight and should have its water changed every few days. Roots will develop in about 2-3 weeks, after which it can continue to grow in water.

**Care Tips for Herbs Growing in Water**
- **Water Quality:** Use filtered or rainwater to avoid contaminants found in tap water.
- **Regular Water Changes:** Change the water every 3-4 days to prevent algae growth and rotting.
- **Light:** Most herbs require 4-6 hours of indirect sunlight daily. If natural light is insufficient, consider using a grow light.
- **Pruning:** Regularly trim your herbs to promote healthy growth and prevent legginess.

**Conclusion**
Growing herbs in water is a straightforward and eco-friendly way to enjoy fresh herbs year-round, even in limited spaces. These seven herbs not only thrive in water but are also highly versatile in the kitchen. Whether you want to elevate your meals or bring some greenery indoors, water-grown herbs are an excellent choice for any gardener.
