We grow lavender and seasonal flowers for dreamy DIY weddings, pop-up events, and bouquet bars. Hi, I'm Cindy and I am the Owner of Peacham Lavender Farm of Vermont. I love the scent of lavender, its graceful beauty, and the elegance a bouquet brings to the table. I am an artist, an art teacher, and a lover of all things vintage. Along with my husband, Dan, and daughter, Maggie, we started our lav

ender farm in the summer of 2022. In 2023 we expanded beyond lavender, growing several varieties of flowers. Last "bud" not least, a 1962 VW flower truck, affectionately named Ringo, joined our family. This summer we plan to put the "pedal" to the metal, spreading flower power across Vermont and New Hampshire, offering a build your own flower bar! "Seed" you soon!

We’re so excited to share a new addition to the Peacham Lavender Farm flower garden! 🌼

A huge thank you to 3 Porch Farm for these beautiful heirloom chrysanthemums. They arrived in excellent condition, along with incredibly helpful growing information that reflects the care and expertise behind their farm.

For now, these young plants are settling into small pots while they establish stronger roots before heading out to the garden. We can’t wait to watch them grow and share their amazing range of textures and colors with you.

Trust me, these beauties are going to knock your socks off! Ideal for fall wedding bouquets. 💐🫶🙌

We’ll be at the Littleton Farmers Market in Littleton, New Hampshire tomorrow—Sunday, June 7—for the very first market of the season!

We hope you’ll stop by and say hello. Things have been especially busy on the farm as we work to replant a field that was devastated a couple of years ago. At the same time, we’re wrapping up the school year in our other lives as teachers, which means long days and even longer to-do lists.

In between it all, I’ve been squeezing in time to bottle lavender simple syrup, room and linen spray, and all the other lavender goodies we can’t wait to share with you this season.

This is truly that wild overlap of late school year chaos and early lavender season excitement—we’re a little sleep deprived, but very grateful and genuinely excited to see you all at the market tomorrow!

Stop by and say hi, sit and chat for a spell… and bring your umbrella! ☔️🤣

My new lavender babies have arrived! 💜

I was so excited to get home from school today because I knew I had a special package waiting for me from Sleepy Creek Lavender Company in Michigan. For the first time ever, I ordered lavender plants from a state that just felt too far away to drive to and pick up in person.

I’ll admit, it was a little nerve-racking having live plants shipped. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories over the years, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But what a wonderful surprise! The plants arrived healthy, vibrant, and in exceptional condition—which is fitting because this particular cultivar is called ‘Exceptional’!

Exceptional’ is classified as a lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia), which is a hybrid of English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia). It’s known for its large white blooms (yes, white lavender exists!), rich fragrance, and impressive cold hardiness. It’s a favorite among growers because it produces abundant flowers, attracts pollinators, and performs beautifully in northern climates like ours here in Vermont.

Now it’s time to get these little lavender babies tucked into their new home. I can’t wait to watch them grow and become part of the farm’s lavender fields in the years ahead. 🌱💜

PS: did I mention that I ordered 216 of them!? Dan is going to kill me, lol! We’ve got more lavender than we know what to do with!

💜 Planting Lavender Plugs 💜

Success starts with a soil test! Lavender prefers well-draining soil with a pH of 6.5–8.0.

When planting, dig a hole the same depth as your plug. For example, a 6-inch plug should go into a 6-inch-deep hole. The top of the plug’s soil should sit level with the surrounding ground—don’t bury it too deep.

In this video, we’re adding a small amount of Pro-Gro and compost to give these young plants a gentle start, then backfilling and watering them in well. Be careful not to over-amend the soil, as lavender thrives in lean conditions. Your soil test will dictate what additives your soil needs and how much to add. Just remember, lavender does not thrive in heavily fertilized soil.

With good drainage (we plant on a steep hillside), proper planting depth, and a little patience, these tiny plugs will grow into beautiful, fragrant lavender plants! Our advice for the best cultivar that thrives in Vermont’s Northeastern region of zone three and four, is Munstead.

Stay tuned for another video on how to winterize your Munstead!
