The Island Style Innovations ‘ohana is growing and we’re looking to fill an Administrative Coordinator position!

In this role, you will report directly to the partners and assist with general office tasks as well as proposal development, and special projects as requested. Requirements include strong computer skills with follow through and accuracy, highly proficient in Microsoft Office, a minimum of five years’ experience in the hospitality industry in Hawai‘i, a minimum of two years’ experience as an administrative coordinator, and must live on O‘ahu and work from our Pearl City office.

Our entire team genuinely reflects our company mission, has excellent work ethics, and has a passion for Hawaiian-style hospitality. If this sounds like you – we want you as a part of our ‘ohana.

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with all residents of Maui impacted by the ongoing devastation.

We are comforted to see the outpouring of aid being sent in across the globe to ensure resources, which are limited, are received.

While many know Lahaina’s Front Street for its bustling crowds of visitors and Kama‘āina alike, we keep in heart and mind its over 12,000 residents and rich cultural heritage.

 In the early 1800’s, Lahaina served its people as the first Capital of the Kingdom of Hawai‘i for over 50 years.
 Lahainaluna High School is the oldest school, west of the Rocky Mountains and home of Hawai‘i’s first printing press.
 Waine‘e Church, now known as Waiola Church, celebrated its 200th anniversary earlier this year and is the resting place of many Hawaiian Royalty.

Though the devastation and strife, we know that Lahaina will rise again though the strength and perseverance of its people and support of humanity worldwide.

Celebrating our 9th year representing the beautiful Hawaiian Islands with pride and Aloha!

to the ISI annual team outing. It was a great couple of days and a terrific way to send off 2022!

Day one, we kicked off our morning with an ocean experience with our friends at Dolphin Charters. We snorkeled and saw dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and enjoyed a fun ride along the beautiful Westside coastline of O‘ahu. The crew was amazing, and we had a blast! In the evening we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and dinner at Four Seasons O‘ahu at Ko Olina. This already gorgeous hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. As always, the service and cuisine were terrific!

Day two began with a morning session with the very innovative Alice Inoue. Alice is so positive and her “Master your Superpower” program is a great team bonding experience and a ton of fun!! We then participated in a shopping competition and ended with a Pau Hana and storytelling of our shopping experiences at Workplay Hawai‘i. It was fabulous spending time with each other and together we look forward to a fantastic 2023. Wishing you all the same!

Each month we will be “Sharing the Culture” with you! This month we are highlighting the ʻŌhiʻa Lehua. This native Hawaiian tree is rich in culture and history. It can grow anywhere and is one of the first plants to grow after a lava flow. Its blossoms can be seen in colors of pink, red, yellow, and white. Fun Fact: Each island is represented by a specific flower. The ʻŌhiʻa Lehua blossom is the flower of Hawai‘i Island!

On May 1st we commemorate Lei Day in Hawai‘i. The celebration first began in 1928 to honor this traditional floral ensemble, and we continue to observe the special ceremony even today.
Fun fact: each island is represented by a different type of Lei! Which one is your favorite?

The Hōkūleʻa and Hikanalia have set sail to Tahiti on Monday, April 18, 2022, to begin their Kealaikahiki Voyage. They are expected to take about 20 days to arrive to Tahiti, while only using traditional navigation methods. This voyage is to prepare the crew for a trip around the pacific next year. This year is also the first time they are captained by a woman, Lehua Kamalu. If you visit https://www.hokulea.com/ you can track the voyage live. Don’t forget to tune in on Monday, April 17 for the beginning of the weeklong Merrie Monarch Festival. It is in honor of King David Laʻamea Kalākaua who worked to revitalize the Hawaiian culture during an era when it was nearly lost. The festival originally began in 1964 gathering the best hula dancers from all of Hawai‘i to compete. Today, the festival continues to promote and celebrate many aspects of the Hawaiian culture through the art of hula. It is with pleasure that we introduce Brenda Castaneda as our newest team member. Brenda, a Chicago native has been a Hawai’i resident for over 10 years. She has hotel experience and brings organizational strength and administrative support to our entire team. Brenda has an enthusiasm for nature and fitness and also enjoys hands on activities such as cooking and woodworking. The Hawai‘i Safe Travels Program officially concludes today, Friday, March 25, 2022. Domestic Travelers arriving into Hawai‘i on March 26, 2022 and beyond will no longer be required to complete a Safe Travels application to enter Hawai‘i.
