I keep getting asked, "Why do you host your brunch ON Mother's Day?" If I'm being honest, it's because I NEED to. You see, until last year, I hadn't celebrated that day in 20 years. I wouldn't go to church. I wouldn't go anywhere. I'd stay in bed, in the dark, and grieve. My Mama went to her Heavenly home in 2004, three days after my youngest son's birthday. Though I caused her MANY headaches, she was my best friend in every way. She was meek, yet so very strong. She was stunningly beautiful, yet modest. Her laugh was infectious. Her wisdom was immeasurable. She always knew EXACTLY what to say and how. She was a connector of people. She was a balm for every hurt. I adored her... and then, she was gone. The void that was left, even now, is otherworldly and indescribable. I could no longer give her the flowers that she deserved. I miss her so much. So on the 20th year of her passing, I decided to do something different. Instead of mourning the loss, I wanted to celebrate the legacy. I wanted to celebrate the beauty, courage, resiliency, and strength of women. I wanted to pour into other women the way Mama poured into me. I wanted to create a safe space to share, and a beautiful space to connect. Through MUCH prayer and tireless effort, the Annual Holiday Hill Events Mother's Day Big Hat Brunch was born.
I would love nothing more than for YOU to join me that day. I have meticulously curated every facet of the day and tailored it to produce a luxurious experience for every guest.
