Get ready for a summer of fun, learning, and kindness at WCPL!
We have so many cool, exciting things happening for kids of all ages here at Washington County Public Library this summer!

Free lunch will be served every day at 12pm!
To celebrate reading and kindness this summer, we’ll be awarding prizes to the top reader in each age group. Everyone who participates in reading will also be entered into our Reading & Kindness Reward prize drawing on June 25th. Every 15 minutes of reading you log earns one entry. And don’t worry—if your child isn’t reading independently yet, listening to stories or coloring counts too! Complete a full row on a Kindness BINGO card, and you’ll earn two bonus entries in the drawing.
We’re also excited to continue our Character in Action initiative. All summer long, we’ll be recognizing kids who are “caught” showing kindness—whether they’re being a good friend, helping others, or simply spreading positivity. It’s one more way we’re building a community of kindness and respect.
Just so you know, some programs have limited space and require advance registration. We encourage you to sign up early to reserve your child’s spot. If you’re unable to attend a program you’ve registered for, let us know so another child on the waitlist can join. For safety, children under age 6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during programs, and all children must be picked up within 30 minutes after each event ends.
We can’t wait to spend the summer with you, filled with books, friends, creativity, and kindness!
