As in there’s a new TOUR of ‘Disenchanted!’ coming in 2024-25!!

It has just been announced that Jonathan Van D**e (Company Manager of the 11-week sold-out Off-Broadway out-of-town tryout in Tampa and director of the popular West Palm Beach and Boca Raton professional productions of the show), along with Marcie Sothern Gorman-Althof of MNM Theatre Company in South Florida are co-producing A NEW NATIONAL TOUR OF ‘DISENCHANTED!’ set to begin later this year and into 2025! Van D**e is directing this exciting new ‘round-the-USA tour!!

Needless to say, along with TOUR-RIFIC, other Words of the Day come to mind: grateful, blessed, and super-duper-pinch-ourselves-silly glee!

Big-time thanks and congrats to everyone who, as we speak, is working tirelessly to bring ‘Dis!’ around the USA - we can’t wait! Cities, dates, and cast will be announced soon by MNM and KMEntertainment (in accordance with Broadway Licensing) - wait ‘til y’all see what MNM has planned! We couldn’t be more thrilled for all involved!

Givens Performing Arts Center

When it opened in 1975, GPAC - with its 65-foot stage, 1,600 seats and ultra-modern architecture – was a dream come true. Its mission would be to host UNC-Pembroke functions, community events and a few special events. Over 40 years, it has done that and more, much more.

Named the Paul R. Givens Performing Arts Center in 1985 for Chancellor Paul R. Givens before the 10th season, GPAC grew to include the Broadway and More Series, On Stage for Youth children’s series, Nostalgia Concert Series and the Distinguished Speaker Series.

GPAC serves up many University concerts, student theatrical performances and functions. It also serves the community as a site for graduation ceremonies, meetings and, of course, beauty pageants. There have been seven directors: Al Dunavan, Enoch Morris, Bill Biddle, John Drtina, Holden Hansen, Patricia Fields and James Bass who joined GPAC in 2016.

As its audience grew during the first 20 years, GPAC’s programs got better and more diverse. Broadway musicals, cirque, orchestras, plays, stand-up comedy and distinguished speakers have appeared on GPAC’s stage.
