The Pensacola State College Lyceum Series is pleased to welcome Joy Harjo, Poet on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in PSC's Ashmore Auditorium, 1000 College Blvd., Bldg. 8.

Harjo is the first Native American to be honored as United States Poet Laureate, and only the second poet to be appointed a third term as U.S. Poet Laureate. She is the author of 10 books of poetry and three award-winning children's books. Harjo has also won numerous awards, including the 2024 Frost Medal from the Poetry Society of America and Yale’s 2023 Bollingen Prize for American Poetry.

SWERVE/dance Company presents "SWERVE: Evolution" as part of the Pensacola State College Lyceum Series. SWERVE/dance Company is a Northwest Florida-based modern dance ensemble under the direction of LaVonne French. Each winter, they present a high-energy, eclectic program in PSC’s Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium. “SWERVE: Evolution” will continue the company’s tradition of innovation and excellence in dance performance.

The Pensacola State College Guitar Association is pleased to present international concert artist Jérémy Jouve’ on Saturday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in PSC's Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium.

Acclaimed by international radio FIP as “the ambassador for classical guitar worldwide,” Jouve’s collaborations include international tours, recordings, and collaborations with the world’s foremost performers and composers.

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., Pensacola State College will present the 2025 Finger Style Acoustic Guitar Competition, at the PSC Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium (1000 College Blvd.). There is no application fee to participate in the competition, but all participants must be 18 years old or younger on the day of the competition. All competition applications must be received by Friday, February 14, 2025. This is a closed competition so there are no tickets available to the public. For more information, competition rules, and to complete an online application for the competition, go to:

The PSC Wind & Jazz Ensembles offer another entertaining evening of music as their smooth melodies fill the Ashmore Auditorium. December means it’s time for the annual Winter Concert, and this year the focus will be on music of famed English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams.

These talented Pensacola State students are under the direction
of our outstanding Band Director, Doug Holsworth. The Wind Ensemble entertains during the concert's first half, with the Jazz Ensemble taking the stage after intermission. Wind & Jazz Ensembles concerts are free and open to the public.

"American Idiot" has completed its stellar two-weekend run at PSC's Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium. If you were lucky enough to catch a performance, then you know just how fantastic this production was! Get ready for a truly eclectic music experience as Pensacola ComposerFest XIX unfolds in the Pensacola State College Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium on Sunday, September 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Each year, ComposerFest showcases original music of mostly local and regional composers. The event provides an opportunity to hear a variety of new music written by contemporary composers, most of whom will be attending the event. Many of the works on the concert will be world premieres!
