We sincerely appreciate the Alga team organizing a fantastic drag-themed trivia night ahead of the viewing and staying a little later than usual to accommodate us.

This is an excellent article about Pensacola's rich, gay history. It highlights how this town was home to one of the most significant LGBT movements in the country during the late 1950s.

The movement continued into the '70s and was the precursor to the massive MDW Celebration at Pensacola Beach, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this past weekend.

Thanks for a super fab day Memorial Weekend Pensacola!

We successfully retrieved five cars, got a $20 tip we'll be donating to Free Mom Hugs- Florida, busted a tow strap - off to the store tomorrow to get a new one for the rest of the weekend, danced on the beach with Trixie Mattel, AND took a few hitchhikers back to the Portofino Island Resort.

Shout out to our friends Remedy Pensacola for keeping everyone on the beach in fluids!

The ONLY thing that can be left on the beach overnight are TENT FRAMES.

Starting tonight EVERYTHING ELSE will be removed starting at 7PM and thrown away. Our special event permit ONLY ALLOWS TENT FRAMES to remain. Any canopies, tent covers, flags, chairs, ice chests, personal items etc. will be removed.
After meeting with the Santa Rosa Island Authority, Memorial Weekend Pensacola was granted a special event permit. This permit will allow for TENT FRAMES ONLY to remain overnight on the beach in the event area from 7AM Thursday, May 23rd through 7AM Monday, May 27th 2024. This area is just east of Portofino to the National Seashore.

ALLOWED
* Tent frames may go up Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at 7AM, All canopy covers and floors must be removed when leaving the beach at the end of the day
* Pop-up canopies without sides, canopies must be next to each other or a minimum of 7 feet apart.
* Tables must be removed when leaving the beach at the end of the day.
* Chairs must be removed from the beach at the end of the day.
* Ice chests must be removed from the beach at the end of the day.
* Solar-powered generators with sealed batteries - Entire assembly must be removed from the beach at the end of the day.
* You may begin occupying the permitted area on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at 7AM.

NOT ALLOWED
* Tents with sides or built-in floor not allowed overnight.
* No RV’s parking along main road.
* No fossil fuel generators, not even in parking lots or on the roadside.
* No open flames - this includes charcoal grills.
* No portable toilets.
* No reserving of space on the beach prior to the start of the permit.
* No roping off spots during events.
* No portable swimming pools. Fill in all holes before leaving the beach at the end of the day.
* No pets.
* No glass.
* No sleeping or camping on the beach at night.
* No walking on the vegetated dunes.
* No parking in non-designated areas.
* No parking on any portion of the bicycle path.
* No part of the vehicle to protrude beyond the white line on the shoulder of the road.
* No guy-wires supporting canopies.
