The DazEj Crew love to make ornaments. Each kiddo makes a new one for our tree each year. When A, Z, and J were babies we made ornaments with their handprints. We also used their fingertips to paint different colored strings of lights on ornaments. Amazing keepsakes I will always cherish.

Who else loves the magic of the holiday? 🎄We’ve started a tradition at our house. On the first day of December my boys receive an Advent Calendar. Then each Sunday leading up to Christmas I give a family gift. Each kiddo helps organize one of the Sundays. Today’s gift, homemade Family Jammies.

…Raise your hand if you have a Cricut or Silhouette? Or know someone who does? Save money and do it together as a family. “Z” helped me design the shirts. Then everyone helped w**d their own shirts to discover what it said. The boys had so much fun!

Each contains a large box of their favorite candy or treat. The last riddle in the scavenger hunt will lead them to a bucket of candy. 🍬🍫🍭

The virtual birthday party was a success! All the kiddos had fun.

Here is how to have a Virtual Birthday party featuring Roblox. 🥳 ...if you need assistance with this or any other Virtual Party give me a call. DazEj would love to help you celebrate. 😁

Roblox Virtual Party.
1️⃣ Gather the list of party attendees and contact parents to make sure they have Roblox. If they do ask for their kiddos Roblox account name so your kiddos can send a friend request in Roblox.

2️⃣ One week before the party:
order plates, napkins, cupcakes, single cupcake containers, juice box, gift bags and anything else you’d like to give to your guests.

3️⃣ Day before the party:
Double check all guests have accepted the friend invitation.
Set up the private server on Roblox. Send invites on Roblox to party attendees when setting up the server. It also helps to contact parents to take off some restrictions so they can join a private server. ...This makes things easier later.

Put together guest goodie bags and include a copy of the instructions below that will be sent in a text or Messenger to parents the morning of the party.

4️⃣ Morning of the party:
Do a goodie bag drop at each attendees house. To maintain social distancing we rang the door bell and left the gift bag at the front door.

Send out a reminder text to parents:
Good morning! (Birthday kiddo) is excited to celebrate his/her birthday with your kiddo today 🎂
This morning you should have received a door drop goodie bag with party supplies and instructions. Just for fun here is a copy of the instructions 😊
How to be part of today’s virtual birthday party. To get started, you will need two devices. One for Google Meets, so the kids can talk to each other while playing the game. The other device for playing the game.

😎 Your kiddo should have received a friend request from (birthday kiddo) on Roblox. Please accept the request. Also last night your kiddo’s Roblox account received an invitation to a (birthday kiddos) private server. This is where the action will happen.

😎 The party starts at (time) today on Google Meets: (insert link).

😎 They will be playing (insert name of Roblox game). The private server name is: (enter server name)

They will be playing for about an hour. At (time)we will sing happy birthday and have cupcakes. The birthday kiddo will then open his presents from friends. Then, the kiddos can continue playing for as long as you will allow.

Thank you again!!!
(Parents name)

5️⃣ Start your Google Meets 10 minutes early. Enter your private server at the designated party time.

6️⃣ Take a cake and presents break an hour into the party. Then let them continue to play for as long as you would like.

7️⃣ Robux is king in this game. As a thank you for playing you can send attendees Robux. However they must have an email address set up in their account to receive the Robux.

Viola! 🥳 A Virtual Party with Roblox. This is something parents can do or their own or DazEj can assist you. Let me know if I can help 😉

Last Fall my boys and I completed a super fun and relaxing project, Mickey and Minnie Mouse diamond art.

It finally came. Eternal spring break has come to an end for a majority of us. Whether in person or online what an amazing, historical and sometimes disappointing experience this has been.

For the last couple of years we have saved and saved and last Christmas gifted our boys a Spring Break to Universal Studios (we are Harry Potter fans) and Disney World (gotta love the Mouse that started it all). Well, our family getaway did not happen. But we did not cry about it? -Well, maybe I cried a little. But mostly, no. I took our stay-cation and themed each day to what we were going to do at the parks. We proudly wore our "2020 Ferrell Family" shirts I had made for the trip and still had fun. Was it the same as seeing Hogwarts Castle in person? No. But I found a behind the scenes tour online that the kids loved... while drinking homemade butter beer.

Sometimes we need to stop and smell the daisies.

Let's talk birthday parties. A kiddo looks forward to their birthday like they do Christmas and Halloween. The attention, the favorite foods, presents, ...an entire day all about them. 2020 is a different kind of year. I'm not going to call it a bummer, I call it an opportunity to get out of the typical birthday parties and try something new - a virtual birthday party. 🤩

Ok, don't imagine a Zoom call. That's definitely not a party. Think about the entire experience from beginning to end. Imagine this, Your kiddo receiving an invite to a Harry Potter themed birthday party. The invite is delivered to their front door (the original door dash 😉) , the invite is an acceptance letter to Hogwarts with details to the party. The invite is of course printed on old parchment with a wax seal closure, and is attached to a balloon that looks like an owl.

After the invitation is accepted, your kiddo will receive another owl delivery of materials to make a wand as some other party needs.

When party time arrives the group will come together (online) decorate their wands, complete the other tasks and projects and have fun with each other. Of course I have other fun tricks and ideas up my sleeves, but I'll save that for when we meet to plan your party 😉

This is a great way to a) have that party, b) share an experience, c) keep you house clean. Virtual parties are also great if you have a bestie who recently moved away or cousins who do not live in your area.
