Ravina...on the Lakes has a beautiful space for a wonderful outdoor cocktail hour. There is plenty of room to be spread out on the grounds with lots of fresh air and sunshine. Butler-passed hors d'oeuvres for your guests will minimize the touching of common utensils and prevent guests from gathering too closely at an hors d’oeuvre table. As we look toward the future and the new normal, let’s all be creative while following the recommended guidelines and precautions to make sure that your event can take place safely and your guests can enjoy themselves.

Our story: Alex and I met back when I was a junior in college. I was looking for a job and ended up applying to Taco Bell. I got call from a guy that worked there to set up an interview, little did I know that it was Alex on the other end of the call. He interviewed me and offered me the job to work there, but it was not until after I left my job there that we started talking more and more. When we talked, it felt like we had known each other our whole lives; there was an instant connection. We had really only hung out a few times before we started dating, but I think we both knew that we had something special. We started dating in July of 2018 and got engaged in March of 2019!

The year 2019 was a big year for the both of us; Alex got a new job at State Farm and I graduated from Illinois State University with my degree in middle school education. Currently, Alex is still working at State Farm as an underwriting assistant and I am a first year teacher teaching math to the best group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders I could ever imagine! We both look forward to getting to spend our special day with all of our family and friends this year and we also look forward to all the amazing things that are in store for us!??

Enjoy the love story of Emily and Adam getting married at Ravina on the Lakes on August 29th 2020

Adam and I met online on a dating app in 2017. We chatted for about a month on the app before Adam asked me on a date. I think I won him over with pictures of my dog. We went for coffee one evening. I had a strict “30 mins long first date policy", and he had me in hysterics the whole date; I ended up staying to talk with him for several hours.

Adam is a general contractor for a building company and he built us our wonderful home that we live in together. We got engaged a few months after moving in together. I am a data scientist for a digital agriculture company. I’ve transitioned to working from home out of our basement during this time. Adam’s building company is classed as essential work in Illinois, so he is working still too, but staying home when he can and doing a lot of video calls with customers instead of meeting in person.
