There’s a fun weekly Monday evening event happening at The Bar at BLACK BAND called Vinyl Night and it’s hosted and curated by the River City DJs.

There’s unique vinyl music spun on turntables, a special food menu, wonderful drinks and fun people. I went last Monday and enjoyed the musical tunes spun by DJ juanGoblin and hung out with lots of fun people in attendance!

DJ juanGoblin (aka Jon) is a longtime fixture of the Peoria music scene — as a musician, concert promoter, co-founder of multiple record labels, and producer of more than 15 vinyl/CD projects. He co-authored the book Punks in Peoria, is a correspondent for WCBU, and previously served as Editor in Chief of Peoria Magazine. As a DJ, he’s spun at The Twelve Bar, Broken Tree, Contemporary Art Center, Studios on Sheridan, and for weddings, parties, fundraisers and other special events.

Busy weekend ahead: On Friday, meet me at The Twelve Bar for JuanGoblin's Hot Jams of the 20th Century -- it'll be an epic night of the greatest songs from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s! Saturday night I'll be wearing polyester and spinning disco tunes at a fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church & School, Peoria, IL. So come on out and get yer groove on!
