Live at Lawrence Library

Free concerts and Open Mic Nights are held monthly in the Art Gallery, September through April. All music programs are free and open to the public.

Open Mic: second Friday of the month, 7:00 - 10:00 PM
Free concerts: third Saturday of the month, 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The monthly music events are held September through April in the Art Gallery. It is an intimate, captivating environment unlike other performance venues, with a line up of incredible talent and changing genre of music. There is always an appreciative crowd that provides a heartfelt exp

erience to both the performer and audience. In addition to the music, you will enjoy the monthly art shows – paintings, photography, quilts and more! Musicians, singers, poets - share your talent at the Open Mic! All ages/all instruments welcome.We have mics, speakers, and a mixer, as well as a cajón and a baby grand piano to play! Light refreshments available; sponsored the Friends of the Library. Coffee provided by Starbucks Coffee, Nashua, NH.

Upcoming concerts - This month on Saturday Oct 28th we have Scott Matsumoto.
Scott Matsumoto is an acoustic fingerstyle guitar player who combines the styles of Andy McKee and Tommy Emmanuel. The result is a broad range of guitar songs that are both percussive and melodic; everything from two-hand tapping guitar pieces to covers of pop songs. Scott started as a folk singer/songwriter, but decided to go “all in” on the guitar: making all the music come through the guitar. The guitar is his band-in-a-box. Every sound in the band gets created out of the different parts of the guitar; there are no pedals or electronics.

Our first live concert of this month is Hungrytown on Saturday, April 15 at 7 pm. After more than 15 years of world-wide touring and three album releases, Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson--otherwise known as the folk duo Hungrytown*--have earned a reputation for the quality and authenticity of their songwriting: “It’s great to hear an act eschew sentimentality in favor of honesty and to prove that you don’t have to go raiding the memory of others to find the stuff that really good songs are made of,” writes Jedd Beaudoin of Popmatters.

Funded by both the Pepperell Cultural Council and the Friends of the Lawrence Library.

Our 2 concert is the JiveKats on Saturday, April 22 at 7 pm. JiveKats is an acoustic/electric band who interpret the roots of today's popular music. They bring you songs by the masters of today's genres as well
as the contemporary artists whose music is based on them. Americana, funk, and R&B will satisfy your soul! Music you will love, brought to you by Kathy Nikitas, David West, Roland Ochsenbein, Jim Kelly, and Steve Dahlgren.” Funded by the Friends of the Lawrence Library.

All concerts are Free and Open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
