🔎🚄🚆 Amidst airline delays and interstate gridlock, travelers are taking advantage of the less frenetic pace of the rails, according to a piece on LinkedIn News.

Amtrak ridership is up 18 percent from last year, and the company is seizing the moment to persuade Americans to embrace train travel. It's investing in new rail lines like the Borealis, which connects Chicago to Minneapolis-St. Paul, and is introducing faster Airo trains along the Northeast Corridor and other routes, in a bid to double ridership by 2040.

Private providers are popping up too. Brightline has routes between Miami and Orlando and is planning high-speed service between Las Vegas and L.A.

V2X can improve safety, and traffic efficiency, and reduce pollution. It can also help with energy use and make the relationship between cars and other road users smoother.

V2X uses sensors, cameras, and wireless connectivity to enable vehicles to communicate with their surroundings. For example, if a vehicle is having trouble stopping at an intersection, it can send a notification to nearby pedestrians to alert them to wait before crossing.

V2X includes three types of communications: Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P). V2X also enables advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. V2X will change the way people travel and improve safety.

👶👧🧒 The third week in September is Child Passenger Safety Week intended to focus on the proper use of car safety seats for children. This national campaign urges parents and caregivers to protect their children making sure they secure them in the correct car seat for their age, height, and weight.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Center for Disease Control report motor vehicle injuries are a leading cause of death among children in the United States. Many of these deaths can be prevented. Always buckling children in age- and size-appropriate car seats, booster seats, and seat belts reduce serious and fatal injuries by up to 80 percent.

As children grow, car seats should be changed to keep up with their age and their size.

1. From birth to about age three, use a rear-facing car seat.

2. After outgrowing the rear-facing car seat, use a forward-facing car seat until about age 5.

3. Once children outgrow their forward-facing seat, they should be buckled in a belt-positioning booster seat until seat belts fit properly. Seat belts fit properly when the lap belt lays across the upper thighs (not the stomach) and the shoulder belt lays across the chest (not the neck).

4. Once seat belts fit properly without a booster seat, use a seat belt on every trip.

Following the publication of that final rule, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 was signed into law on May 16, 2024. This final rule amends the Department’s regulations, as updated by the April 26, 2024, final rule, consistent with the requirements of the Act.

⏳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🏢 In 1923 Alex Wilner founded Wilner’s Livery Service, Inc., (WLS) driving Pierce Arrows and Packard Limousines. His point of operation was a telephone pole located at the Perth Amboy Railroad Station.

Wilner’s Livery was a strong blend of Personal Chauffeur Drivers and Funeral Livery. Soon after Alex’s son, David joined the family business. Together they built Wilner’s Livery Service to be New Jersey’s largest funeral livery.

Staten Island Funeral Livery was acquired extending reach across the Hudson River and expanding into both Staten Island and Brooklyn, New York.

In 1974 David acquired A. Harrington Limousine Service (HLS). Harrington had a rich tradition for fine luxury transportation to the “Elite New Jersey Business Traveler.” David built this business with attentive service and quality vehicles.

Today David’s son, Jonathan, with the help of the HLS - Harrington Limousine Service team, is at the helm bringing better service and innovative ideas to maintain and exceed client satisfaction. The terrorist attacks of September 11 were the deadliest in human history, causing the deaths of 2,996 people, including 2,977 victims and 19 hijackers who committed murder-suicide.

Today, we remember all of those who lost their lives so tragically in the attacks on American soil. Please take time to remember them so that we never forget.

After a long flight and using your cell phone for hours as you travel, the battery can die without you realizing it. If you don't have the address for your hotel or place you are staying, you won't be able to tell the cab or rideshare driver or your chauffeur where to take you.

This may sound like an unnecessary step but try getting to your destination without your mobile phone and without the address. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hummer, owned by General Motors, was a popular line of off-road and SUV vehicles. Unfortunately, the Hummer brand was discontinued in 2010 to keep General Motors out of bankruptcy.

Though the Hummer brand no longer exists, you can still find a wide range of Hummer limousines on the market today. Many of the were designed with rugged V8 or even V10 engines, and well-tuned suspensions to keep their rides steady so the vehicles could hold up for hundreds of thousands of miles.

Hummer limousines were built in a variety of sizes and shapes from traditional limousines to SUV limos and some could seat up to 26 passengers in one ride. A plethora of colors were also offered from traditional black and white to orange, neon green, and pale pink.
