Taking a breath after wrapping up this absolutely beautiful maternity session. I’m so grateful for all of my families’ patience as I work my way through a busy schedule! It was a joy to meet this lovely couple and capture this special time for them. Now, it’s back to editing, but I’m already looking forward to meeting their little one in a few weeks for their newborn session!

The light filtering through these majestic redwoods always feels so magical, creating that ethereal glow you see here. It’s truly beautiful year-round!

Navigating a newborn photo session with a toddler can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! As an experienced in-home newborn photographer, I’ve developed a simple, stress-free flow to capture beautiful family moments while keeping everyone happy.

Here’s how I do it:
1. Family First: I start with the full family photo to get those key shots right away.
2. Sibling Fun: Next, I capture sweet, authentic moments between your older child and the new baby.
3. Toddler’s Time-Out: Once the sibling photos are done, your toddler is free to play, snack, or just take a break—their “work” is done!
4. Baby’s Spotlight: The rest of the session is dedicated to capturing all the precious details of your new baby.
This approach ensures you get all the photos you want without the stress. In-home sessions make it easy to go with the flow, take breaks, and just be present with your family.

This summer, I’ve been challenging myself to step outside the box and grow as a photographer.

My goal is to work on a new creative photo project every month, just for me. This first one was a dream: underwater photography!

It was an incredible experience to bring this vision to life. A huge thank you to my friend for letting me use their pool on such a hot day—it was the perfect setting. I’m already working on editing my next few projects, and I can’t wait to share them all with you.

Who loves a checklist? 🙋‍♀️ If you have a family session coming up, you’re gonna wanna save this one so you can feel totally cool, calm, and collected before your shoot!

Try on all outfits at least a few days before the session (and make sure the kids have tried theirs on too!

Lay everything out the night before, including accessories, shoes, layers, and any backups

Pack snacks and water, especially if little ones are coming
Make sure everyone’s well-rested and well-fed

Don’t worry about perfect hair or behavior—just come ready to connect

Hey new friends (and familiar faces!) 👋 It’s been a hot minute since I popped in with a proper intro, and since some amazing new families have joined our little community, I thought it was time!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Diana, and I’ve been chasing joy and capturing genuine family moments for over 9 years now! My love with photography started way back in high school, thanks to my amazing dad. We even turned our bathroom into a makeshift darkroom back in the day – talk about dedication (and maybe a little bit of madness)! 😂

What do I love most about what I do? It’s all about finding those magical moments the naked eye often misses – the quick glances, the silly giggles, the pure connection. I’m pretty good at making kids feel comfortable and capturing their true personalities, all while playing in natural light to give you that beautiful glow and twinkle. My goal? It’s such a joy to watch this family grow! ✨ Getting to photograph them, from their first maternity session to welcoming their second sweet boy, Avery, always feels like such a gift.

With their home undergoing a reno, we embraced the magic of an outdoor newborn session in the stunning Redwoods just north of Santa Rosa. We had the whole place to ourselves, and it truly felt so intimate and special.

Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to do what I do!
