Hi Everyone,
It’s about time we got a chance to say a few things. First of all we will keep this positive or at least try. No use calling out the monsters after they raided the village, but we probably still will. Let’s focus on the good times and rebuild. We love you, we really did and do. We’ve been blessed with conversations, friendships and memories that even the city of Petaluma couldn’t take away, but they might try. We were there when our friends lost their jobs, the fires, scholarship nights, our friends having their first, second, and third children, and covid. We were there when our friends passed away, as well as all of our bar dogs that we considered family. We didn’t just own a bar, we owned a family. We felt like we owned a town. We took all of it very seriously, with a smidge of fun rubbed in. We love all of you and there won’t be a minute that goes by where we don’t wish things had worked out better. Speaking of better, Petaluma, do better, because we know the people that live there, and they deserve better than what they are getting from you. You’ve been gifted a population full of good people that love life. Don’t Punch up, don’t punch down especially if you’re a bouncer or a drunk bar patron, don’t punch anyone. Petaluma is like an old house, it’s got rust and mold and needs some upgrades, but the bones of the home are still good, don’t remodel a beautiful home. Soon you’ll be living in a gated community, where the Halloween kid’s crawl and butter and eggs are old stories we tell our children about. Lastly for everyone we want to stress one thing. No one ever wins a fight. Everyone loses a fight. Talk. Listen. Genuinely converse. That’s how everyone wins. We didn’t lose this fight, because the people we have met have improved the lives of the best bar staff ever, Greg and myself. We overcame pain and suffering with fun, memories, and good times. We lost our bar, but we won. Thank you. Petaluma City Council, we will see you next election. Donkey Out.
