Must have been a heck of a game!…Cheerleaders in Conval’s hoop heritage, the 1967 Peterborough Hilanders, react to a thrilling moment in the basketball season. Fans of all ages packed what is now the PES gym. But where are the fans at just about every school today? Regardless of record, many empty seats can be found. One possible reason: the start time. In ‘67, home games began at 7:30 and sometimes 8. Now, for a variety of reasons, it’s typically at 6 p.m. We can’t go back, but those were the days! … The ‘67 PHS cheerleaders (from left): Deana Kerazis, Jill Stewart, Marsha Harris, Debby Bowen, Debbie Ames, Sandy Trufant, Nancy Fetzer and Nancy Wheeler.

Back in the 1930s, many towns sponsored winter frolics and winter carnivals. In Peterborough, a big draw was the toboggan run at the golf club. This circa 1935 home movie shows the tobogganers in action!
