A Return to Cairnwood Estate

This past Sunday, I had the distinct pleasure of participating as a preferred vendor at the elegant Cairnwood Estate Bridal Show. It was my first time back since the pandemic, and it reminded me why this venue holds such a special place in my heart. For over 20 years, I’ve had the honor of photographing weddings at Cairnwood—a place where timeless elegance meets romantic grandeur.

Cairnwood’s historic architecture and meticulously landscaped grounds offer an extraordinary backdrop for wedding photography. Every corner of this estate exudes a refined charm, making it ideal for couples seeking a classic, vintage-inspired setting for their special day.

While this isn’t a headshot post, photography has taken me across many worlds—capturing moments in corporate spaces, on the field, and at countless weddings. Each story is unique, but Cairnwood remains one of my favorite canvases to create on.

Photo of the Week! 📸
Baseball’s Opening Day is almost here—Thursday, March 27th—and the Phillies kick off their home season on Monday, March 31st!
There’s just something magical about Opening Day. It’s that one time each year when every team has hope, every fan dares to dream, and the air is filled with the excitement and anticipation of what’s to come. It always brings me back to childhood memories, ballpark hot dogs, and the crack of the bat under spring skies.
As a lifelong Phillies fan, I can’t help but think about the incredible players I’ve watched over the years—Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Juan Samuel, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley… the list goes on.
But one name always rises to the top for me: Roy Halladay.
While no one will ever replicate Steve Carlton’s legendary 1972 season, there was something about Halladay—his poise, his dominance, his ability to come through in the clutch. He was a force. A quiet storm on the mound.
It’s a shame injuries shortened his career and that the Phillies never won a World Series during his time here… but wow, was he something special. Unforgettable, really.
Here’s to new beginnings, fresh stats, and the beauty of a clean slate. ⚾

Photo of the Week! 📸
How do you capture a portrait of a photographer? Do you have them hold a camera? Place them in a studio with lights? Or do you find a way to tell their story through the lens? That was the challenge I faced when photographing the legendary Rock & Roll photographer Bob Gruen.
A good friend of mine, Craig Sumsky (owner of Cutting Edge DJ and Entertainment), is a huge Beatles fan—just like me. At the time, he was creating a blog about his personal Beatles journey, meeting and interviewing people with direct ties to the band. His blog took off, drawing in fans from around the world. Among his many interviews were Larry Kane(former WPVI Philadelphia news anchor and traveled with the Beatles), Helen Leicht(former WXPN Philadelphia host), and Denny Laine (of Wings and The Moody Blues). But one of the most memorable encounters was with Bob Gruen.
Craig and I made our way to Bob’s apartment in NYC, and from the moment we arrived, Bob was warm, welcoming, and full of incredible stories. He told us how rock stars would crash at his place to escape the press—names like John & Yoko, Debbie Harry, and Keith Richards. As I sat in his office, Bob casually mentioned, “The chair you’re sitting in was Keith’s favorite.”
When it came time to capture Bob’s portrait for the blog, I wanted to connect him to his most famous work. As we walked through his apartment, I noticed framed images of John Lennon on the wall—after all, Bob was Lennon’s go-to photographer and documented his life in iconic ways. I asked, “Hey Bob, could you sit right here and tell us more stories?” He obliged, and the result was the perfect portrait—one that tied the man behind the camera to his legendary subject.

****Super Bowl Sunday – Penny’s Pizza!
It’s my Penny’s Pizza-versary! In 1977 the Oakland Raiders took on the Minnesota Vikings. I don’t remember much about that game, except that the Raiders won, and that we ordered a Penny’s Pizza for halftime. That sweet sauce… That signature crust… so great! And today we’re still getting Penny’s for Eagles games (Go Birds!)
Thanks, Penny’s, for forty-plus years of halftime bliss!

Wild ,Wild,Wildwood Days!
Over the weekend I took a ride to Wildwood NJ to check out TROG The Race Of Gentlemen. This is an event where folks bring antique cars and motorcycles to race on the beach at Wildwood. This event has been going on for 10 years. It always seems to bring a number of great classic cars. The unusual thing about this car show is people drive and park them all over town. Unlike most car shows where the cars are lined up in a row, here they are everywhere and in some very cool, unusual places. I knew I would have some great images to show.
Creating images of cars has been a passion of mine since I started making photographs. These and many other classic car images will be on a new website, very soon, where I will be offering prints

Five Star Review!!
" I haven't had updated headshot photos in a couple of years and it was a chance for me to do a different look. I dance for different bands including Insane Clown Posse, Freak, Mike E. Clark, as well as other random bands that will hire me for certain gigs. I figured these headshot photos would be perfect for when I am advertising and looking for new jobs. I went over to Kevin's studio and he was extremely professional and welcoming the entire time. I felt very comfortable, the studio was beautiful, He had all the right equipment for the photo shoot, and everything just went really really well!! "

Brand Imagery!!
Last fall, during the Philadelphia playoff run, Geoff Slick, a local Realtor hashtag , and I brainstormed the idea of creating a Baseball-style Business card. We aimed to design a unique card with stats and real estate tips on the back, possibly packaged with a stick of gum - a business card like no other! Though initially planned for last fall, due to uniform production and weather timing, this innovative project turned into a spring endeavor, targeting the hashtag MLB AllStarGame timeframe for the grand reveal.

In the realm of brand imagery, the key is to be creative and stand out. Your brand can embody any character, narrative, or concept you desire. It doesn't have to conform to traditional standards; the more captivating and memorable you are, the more attention and potential business you can attract. My business mantra is "Be Memorable," and I assure you these distinctive cards will leave a lasting impression!
