Important Announcement from Tio Abi’s Food Truck & Catering

Dear Friends and Customers,

We regret to inform you that Tio Abi’s Food Truck & Catering will be temporarily closed until what looks like Spring 2025. As many of you know, on October 10th, the trailer was hit by a driver doing an ilegal UTurn. After an assessment, the repair costs have turned out to be more than we can cover out of pocket.

We’ve been working closely with the insurance companies, but unfortunately, the process is taking longer than expected. Additionally, we must go through a reinspection and reapply for city licenses to resume operations.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and continued support during this challenging time. We will keep you updated on our progress and look forward to serving you again once we’re able to reopen.

La próxima semana empezamos a preparar pa’ la navidad. Tendremos de guineo, yuca, pollo y pernil. No se queden atrás.

First— thank you to all those who participated in our first catering fundraiser in benefit of Lighthouse Sports and Ent. Complex.

The result of the Thanks-for-giving fundraiser is in… *drumroll* please!!!

The winner of the Thanksgiving dinner is Maria Reyes. She was notified via email and sent us a message at 1am 🤣❤️Maria has been a supporter since we started this food truck journey. Last year— she ordered a full Thanksgiving dinner including a Povochon (Turkey). She also stops by the truck once a week. Thank you for your trust, support and donation in benefit of children and youth participating in sports and recreation.

Our grocery list is almost ready! But we have one more catering spot available for Thanksgiving day and want to give an opportunity for someone to fill the spot.

There are other ways to bring Tio Abi’s Kitchen home for Thanksgiving. Please consider entering for a chance to win a Thanksgiving feast cooked by us while supporting The Lighthouse 1893, Philadelphia’s oldest non-profit.

The meal will include:

Hello everyone!!!

Unfortunately— we are not able to open Tio Abi’s for food service today, tomorrow and the foreseeable future. We are currently working with insurance companies and individuals specialized in building and repairing food service units. The feedback is the food trailer is not in conditions to take to the streets. Our customers safety is at the top of mind, always.

With that said, We are still operating and doing what we can to continue moving forward by honoring any contracts we currently have, our catering services, and are reeving up to sell pasteles. We have been at the drawing board and will post later this evening with all the offerings we have during this season.

We appreciate the support we have received during this year. Tio Abi’s will continue to provide the delicious flavors you have all come to know and love 💪🏽🇵🇷

Tio Abi’s Kitchen will be open at 23rd & Oregon on Wednesday, November 13th & Thursday, November 14th.
