Emily Wren Photography

Emily Wren Photography I get a true sense of fulfillment preserving the most important moments in people's lives. This is the joy that dives me to be a wedding photographer.

My approach is very personal. I always come away from a wedding feeling like I've just experienced something beautiful between close friends. For me, the most important thing is to capture the love between you and your partner honestly. It's this intimate approach that will help you feel at ease and comfortable with the camera, highlighting the organic beauty that is revealed when people really fe

el like themselves. I earned a degree in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), one of the most prestigious photography programs in the country. This level of experience and training comes heavily into play while capturing your special day. I am drawing on a bank of knowledge and know-how that has taken years in the field to master. Of course I also come with a wide assortment of top-of-the-line equipment. I bring multiple high end cameras, spectacular lenses, gorgeous lighting and flashes, and more importantly_,_ the knowledge to use this equipment to it's fullest potential. The result is a simple and fresh aesthetic, rich in narrative images and telling details. Every wedding is unique. Most weddings are a combination of timeless traditions and spontaneous celebrations. As your photographer, I am constantly open to possibility, seeking out the nuanced shots that tell the story of your love. There are certain moments I expect to photograph of course, and then there are the photos that can't possibly be planned, but are full of emotion and truth. Sometimes it's these moments in between the poses that tell your story best.

I’m so excited that Heling & Thomas’s beautiful Jasna Polana wedding is featured in the print issue of New Jersey Bride Magazine!

From their very first steps in Princeton’s ballroom dance club, Heling & Thomas have been moving through life together—gracefully, joyfully, hand in hand.

They returned to Princeton’s storied campus for their ceremony, tying the knot among the gothic arches of the University Chapel. They chose to walk down the aisle side by side—a quiet, powerful reflection of their partnership.

Their reception at Jasna Polana was a study in refined contrasts: Chinese and Polish rituals woven through an evening of understated luxury. An intimate tea ceremony, a playful toast (vodka or water—the guest must choose), two first dances, and multiple elegant outfit changes carried the celebration late into the night—each moment an expression of joy, style, and the couple’s shared spirit.

See more from this stunning day on my blog and in their feature in New Jersey Bride—link in bio.

Photographing Emma & Andrew’s wedding was such a full-circle moment—after documenting both her sister’s and brother’s weddings, this celebration marked the third time I’ve had the honor of working with this warm, close-knit family. Every one of their weddings has been a favorite, and this one was no exception.

Emma’s bridal look was effortlessly cool—her sleek 70s-inspired style had everyone comparing her to Priscilla Presley. Amanda D’Andrea gave her a smooth blowout with a soft curl at the ends, paired perfectly with luminous, natural makeup by JKO Beauty. Her lace gown was a perfect mix of timeless and bold, with a high neckline and detailed floral embroidery.

RAM Floral truly outdid themselves with their final wedding design. The reception space at The Switch House paired clean, modern architecture with organic, layered floral installations. White roses, anemones, and soft greenery were balanced against sleek black dinnerware and gold accents—elevated but not overdone. The sweetheart table framed by floral arches and candlelight was especially stunning.

It’s been such a joy working with this vendor team across all three weddings, and while it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, I’m so grateful to have been a part of it all.

Caroline & Chris’s love began with a chance match on Hinge while Chris—a professional baseball player—was in town for a game. He invited Caroline to watch him play, and after the game, they met for a drink at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. That very first date, beneath the grand chandeliers and golden glow, marked the beginning of something magical.

Now, years later, they’ll be saying “I do” in the very place where it all started. Their engagement session paid homage to this full-circle moment—capturing the iconic elegance of the Ritz and the timeless charm of Philadelphia, a city that’s witnessed the unfolding of their love story.

Caroline’s white lace dress, Chris’s polished charcoal blazer, and their effortless chemistry brought old-world romance to life amidst the historic streets of downtown Philadelphia and golden-hour light at the Art Museum.

From the moment Gabs & Drew saw each other, their emotions were on full display—quick to laugh, quick to cry, and so beautifully present with one another. It was such a joy to capture their expressive love and beautiful wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf 🥹

And I loved all the vintage touches, each one felt like a love letter to their story. The guys wore vintage gold pins instead of boutonnieres, and Gabriella wore a vintage silk nightgown while getting ready. For her reception dress, she reimagined her mother’s wedding gown into a chic after-party look—a detail that felt as timeless as it was touching. And the es**rt card table? A dreamy, literary moment with used books and custom bookmarks tucked inside, leading each guest to their seat.

Classic, personal, and overflowing with heart—this one was magic

There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding that balances timeless elegance with personal charm—and Alexandra & Kevin’s black-tie celebration at Jasna Polana was exactly that. We are so honored to see this stunning day featured on Brides.com!

With the incomparable Mindy Weiss at the helm, every detail was curated to perfection. From the moment guests arrived at the Tuscan-inspired estate in Princeton, they were swept into a world of quiet luxury and heartfelt romance. Mindy’s vision brought Alexandra’s love for neutrals to life in the most exquisite way—from the lush, all-white ceremony florals cascading down the grand staircase, to the soft candlelight that flickered as they exchanged vows.

Alexandra was radiant in a long-sleeved lace gown, the very embodiment of classic grace. Her bridesmaids shimmered in an artfully mixed palette of black, blush, sparkle, and feathers—each one a nod to their individuality while remaining deeply harmonious.

Beneath a clear-top tent, guests dined under a canopy of twinkling lights—a dreamy interpretation of dining beneath the stars. The reception was filled with intimate touches inspired by the bride’s favorite family meals, and even included a playful late-night surprise: custom McDonald’s Happy Meals, a sweet tribute to Kevin’s role as a McDonald’s owner-operator.

It was a joy to capture the spirit of this day—the laughter, the tears, and every tender moment in between. This celebration was more than just beautiful—it was deeply meaningful, and we are so grateful to have been part of it!

Some weddings feel like they are woven together with golden threads of love, laughter, and legacy, and Dana and Jacob’s wedding at Lilah was just that—an unforgettable reflection of who they are as a couple. With Dana’s Argentinian roots and Jacob’s deep appreciation for tradition, they crafted a day that was both deeply personal and joyfully communal. Their wedding was more than just a celebration; it was a vibrant tapestry of family, heritage, and heartfelt moments, set against the backdrop of one of Philadelphia’s most exciting new venues, created by renowned chef Michael Solomonov of Zahav.

Every detail, from the thoughtfully curated florals that transformed the industrial space into a lush autumnal dreamscape to the sultry Tango they performed as their first dance, paid homage to their story. The warm hospitality of Lilah’s team made the celebration feel intimate and effortless, while the deep-rooted traditions they honored—like the emotional recitation of the Sheva Brachot and their mothers breaking a plate together—infused every moment with meaning.

“Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone—it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new.” These words, shared during their Sheva Brachot, felt especially meaningful in a space dedicated to hospitality, nourishment, and gathering. Much like love, the best meals—and the best marriages—are created with care, meant to be shared, and cherished for a lifetime. ❤️✨

It’s Super Bowl Sunday, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles as they take the field tonight! 🎉💚

In the spirit of game day, we’re also celebrating something extra special—our feature in Philadelphia Magazine showcasing the unforgettable Eagles-themed wedding of Sydnie & Chris.

One of the most incredible moments of the day was walking with the couple from the locker room to the LINC as the stadium lights flashed and the player pump-up music blasted through the speakers—just like a real Eagles entrance! It gave us all chills and made for the most epic start to their wedding portraits. Talk about a grand entrance! 🦅💍

Capturing their love story in such an iconic place—right where their favorite team makes history—was an absolute dream. From intimate moments in the locker room to joyous celebrations on the field, their wedding was a true testament to team spirit and timeless love.

Today, as we watch the Eagles fight for another championship, we can’t help but feel extra proud to be part of this incredible city and its love for both football and love stories!

Go Birds! 💚🏆

Moira and Nick are two of the sweetest, most fun-loving people you’ll ever meet—and their wedding was a perfect reflection of that. Their bold black-and-white palette set the tone for a celebration that was equal parts timeless and vibrant. Against the historic backdrop of Philadelphia’s Merchant’s Exchange and The Ballroom at the Ben, these two’s dynamic energy brought every frame to life—Moira radiating effortless elegance in her off-the-shoulder Anne Barge gown, and Nick’s charismatic charm grounding it all with ease. And how about Moira’s headstand on the dance floor? Iconic!

Their portraits felt like a study in contrasts—soft fabrics and candid laughter framed by the striking symmetry of stone columns and classic architecture. Their wedding was an editorial showcase of personal style and genuine connection, full of raw emotion and authentic moments.

I was so excited to photograph my first wedding at The Grand Belle, ’s newest venue in the historic Bellevue Hotel! When it opened in 1904, this Philadelphia landmark—designed in the French Renaissance style—was considered the grandest hotel in the world. From Thomas Edison-designed light fixtures to Venetian stained glass windows, every detail speaks to an era of unmatched elegance. Cescaphe’s renovation has restored its grandeur while introducing modern touches, making it the perfect space for unforgettable weddings.

When chilly December weather shifted our plans for outdoor portraits, Cescaphe provided access to the newly renovated XIX Ballroom on the 19th floor. With its intricate white-painted molding, floor-to-ceiling crescent windows, and wrought-iron balconies, it became the perfect setting for their portraits. I especially loved the whimsical Pearl Room, which added a modern, artistic flair to bridal party portraits, while the balcony provided a breathtaking backdrop for sunset photos with sweeping views of Philadelphia.

I was deeply moved by the closeness of Phyllis and Tom’s families and the beautiful way they honored their Sicilian and Irish heritage throughout the day. From Phyllis wearing her mother’s cathedral-length veil—a cherished family heirloom—to the heartfelt toasts and spirited celebrations, every detail reflected their rich traditions.

Cescaphe’s renovation of The Grand Belle was nothing short of stunning. The soaring ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and intricate details made every frame a dream to capture. Phyllis and Tom’s bold black-and-white theme brought a modern sophistication to the space, with black linens, gold-rimmed glassware, and white calla lilies creating a striking design. Their grand entrance under a confetti shower and their cinematic first dance beneath cascading lights were unforgettable highlights of the night.
