Frieda Bayer
July 14, 1939 - January 12, 2025
We mourn the passing of Frieda Bayer and extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy to her husband Rudi, daughter Kathi and son Rudi Jr. along with their families.
Frieda left behind a strong legacy at the Cannstatter, having held the position of Frauenverein President for 43 years and serving as "First Lady" when her husband Rudi was CVV President from 1980-1986. But there was so much more to her than that.
Frieda was small in stature but large in her presence. She was an elegant lady who was at the same time always down to earth. She was driven, but never pushy; organized, but never dogmatic; very frank, but never disrespectful. While Frieda never sought the limelight and projected the light unto others, she could always confidently command a room, whether she simply said a heartfelt grace at our banquets or addressed attendees at meetings, various Frauenverein events and other German-American functions. Frankly (were it not for the old-fashioned mindset of the day), Frieda had the skills and demeanor to have made a great and impactful President of the CVV.
The individual writing this piece, along with many others reading this, will dearly miss Frieda's genuine authenticity, warm smile, friendly laugh, sage advice and optimistic encouragement.
