We simply can't wait for "Never One Thing," curated by Associate Artistic Director Heather Mitchell, on February 22nd at 4pm at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral! Here is what some of our singers are saying about this program:

"One of the most beautiful things about music is that it can express the inexpressible. The music we’re singing in this performance is full of hope and promise, expressed in a variety of styles and genres that will touch many hearts"

"What a FUN repertoire. I'm so excited to sing these pieces (and sing them well) alongside my Mendelssohnians."

"The range of styles that the programming captures - there are grand moments to be shared with an audience both in the soft and loud alike."

"Unlike our other concerts which often have BIG works/heavy works, this concert is a collection of shorter and sometimes more modern works, but in their short duration they express so much and are musically so involved."

Check out this sneak peek of May Erlewine's "Never One Thing" led by Assistant Conductor Ariel Alvarado.

Thank you to everyone who made our 37th year at St. Paul's so special! ✨

Two of the Northwest’s most favorite ensembles will be celebrating Christmas with concerts at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill.

Our own Ariel Alvarado speaks about authenticity, inclusivity, and adapting to change: 'We're not afraid of hard work and cutting our teeth and making it happen. We just want what is real and authentic.'

✨ "A Feast of Carols" is just weeks away, and we're delighted to highlight this year's stunning concert artwork by our very own singer Barbara Berry!

Created with paper stencil and soft pastels on black sanded paper, her work features a luminous stained glass window design. At its center, a radiant rose window—symbolizing divine perfection—glows while angels herald the celestial harmonies we bring to life through song. Every detail captures the magical connection between music and spirit that defines our beloved holiday tradition.

🎵 Join the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia for an unforgettable evening where art and song intertwine. Let beloved carols, holiday favorites, and spiritual works fill your heart with the magic of the season. Tickets are going FAST!

Baroque magic unfolds on October 26th! We are so excited to showcase the talents of Heather Mitchell in her new role as Associate Artistic Director as she Mendelssohn Chorus in Caldara's "Missa Dolorosa." From intricate fugues to lyrical melodies, we simply cannot wait!

"Bach, Handel, Mozart, Haydn and more all had copies of Caldara’s music in their personal libraries. When you hear this mass, you’ll no longer wonder why Bach was a big fan. And you’ll certainly understand why I’m one too." - Heather Mitchell

Paired with the Philadelphia premiere of Sarah Kirkland Snider's "Mass for the Endangered" this concert will certainly resonate with you long after the final note fades.
