Our first European trip together was Spain 30 years ago! It’s fun to be back and can’t believe it’s our first time to San Sebastián - my favorite Spanish city thus far. Mark is charming all those Basque shopkeepers & bartenders with his fancy Basque language skills. The food is ridiculous

Wow - Innkeepers Heidi & Ted just bought 6 weeks ago or so and really transformed this lovely old waterfront Inn in St Michael’s MD. Mostly paint, linens and rugs - but transformational! These guys are going to be amazing innkeepers! A great getaway on the Chesapeake Bay. One of those shoots that just “clicks”

Delightful to be invited to shoot for the new owners of Brampton Inn - it’s still got the great ole Brampton vibe that we’ve been enjoying for the 15 years we’ve been shooting there. David & Hillary and the team have made so many improvements especially in the inn’s 30 acres of trails and gardens. Wow. .md .md

Fantastic to be shooting for the 3rd owner (over 15 years) of Cornerstone B&B in Philly. It’s been fun seeing all the changes over the years. Eric and Jill are great caretakers of this historic building in University City neighborhood. They have charisma & talent & energy galore! Offering breakfast in bed and tea and tons of stuff many hotels or inns just don’t offer anymore. A Select Registry Inn now! .philadelphia

My first loaf out of Bien Cuit cookbook, 60 hour miche - thanks to Carolyn at Cranberry Meadow Farm for recommending this great book. The recipe instructs to wait 10 hours to cut. This will be a long 10 hours!

We had this unbelievable cold soup years ago and Portugal and I’ve been looking for a recipe for years! I found it! It’s called arjamolho and they have an excellent recipe in NYTimes on July 17. Darn good. Vegan! Addictive. It’s tomato, cucumber onions and a few other simple ingredients floating in a vinegar water broth. Sounds like gazpacho but just not. Beautiful soup bowl by commissioned by me, the perks of a potter husband
